Crashes (Vanilla)
I think it's a performace crash, it's doesn't happen so often, maybe 3 - 8 times per day.
But it's extremely annoying, when I'm exploring the map, or maybe into a good battle this game just crash and make me lose the involvement which I was, to not mention makes me back 10 minutes on the game...

Quicksaves on a very lage area such montains while moving, could happen a crash, many spells at same time could make a crash, explore a new area of map while I'm moving fast could make crash, so I think it's performace problem of my computer.

My configurations are

Win 7 32bits
Intel core i7 CPU 870 @ 2,93GHz
8GB Ram (I know a haste of ram, but I've heard most games doesn't work on 64 bits, I'm thinking of change it, good idea?)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (Veeeerry old, but pretty good)

I'm running on medium settings, as the game said I could run propery.

So, I'm thinking about upgrade my computer, what do you guys think is most needed to change right now, I'm thinking about my videoboard and upgrade my win 7 to 64 bits, basicly it is, anything else?

Also a sugestion about a good videoboard to run on high settings without any problem should be appreciate, thanks.

3 to 4 meg graphic cards you will need to 2 mg graphic cards and you will a picture so beautiful you will not have to add any enhancment mods. I have 2 two 1.5 mg cards in my Aurora,

I'm running on medium, I already love the graphics. =)
But will this fix the crash problem?

I'll try that.

I've a Full Tower Sentey Cyclone Gs-7000 with 8 fans, 4 120mm and 4 230mm I could overclock my entire computer and will still remainds cold as snow... Overheating is just impossible.

I've read most performace crashes occur because of micro ram management, since 32 bits only use 4 GB ram there's nothing else I can do about it, unless downgrade my graphics to low (which isn't a very funny idea), but if I upgrade my computer to 64 bits, I could use my whole 8GB ram, and maybe fix this problem on medium settings...

I'm just wondering if there's something else to think about, since some games had incompatibility problem with 64 bits...

WRS, I'd definitely backup all your files & Skyrim saves, get yourself a newer graphics card and upgrade to Win7 64bit. No need to cross fire or SLI for good graphics. A newer single 2GB GPU will do it. Take a look at a good mid range 2GB Nvidia 600 or 700 series card if you want to stick with NVidia.

Good luck, oh, and make sure you've got a decent power supply. Hope all goes well.

I had many crahes in Solstheim, which is very hilly. Editing the ini helped me a lot, maybe it will help you too: http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/846944689727400435/

Skyrim is a 32 bit game - so even upgrading your OS won't get you more than the 4 Gb allowed by the LAA flag.

Plus its a Dx9 game which means that textures stored in VRAM are also loaded into RAM - and Skyrim crashes when its using approximately 3.1 Gb RAM for textures.

There's a mod by Boris - the guy who does ENB - that *sorta* fixes this in that it can allow you to aproach the 4 Gb cap closer.

I'm having those issues in skyrim, since I've pass a little time on Soulstreim, but I haven't any crash there (I've only made that mine and a little exploration around and I back to skyrim)

When this guide you've posted said "back to 5" so skyrim is 5 as defaut?
I don't know what's means, but I didn't get any freezing screen, only crashes when lot of things try to load at same time, my computer doesn't support and some times crash. (not always)

For example a waterfall far away looks like a frozen mountain, when I get close the game loads the water and then start falling, when multiple thigns load at same time and something happen together like a attack on me, or a quick save, or multiple lands loading at same time, some times it makes to crash.

Do you think a new video board could help me?
