Question on blacksmithing...
So it's been awhile since I played and my last character I used had blacksmithing all the way up so early, that it has been years since I've done it really. I remember hearing something about a patch concerning blacksmithing and was wondering what it was. Is it all still the same as when the game was still somewhat new? Thanks and any tips with blacksmithing welcomed!

You get less exp for making cheap stuff and more exp for making expensive stuff.
Okay so it wont be as easy to get it sky high so quick and early. Thats cool. Thanks
If you use the Hearthfire Supplies mod, you can take all the gold ingots and an equal amount if gems, and make a golden jewled necklace over and over and over and you will have enough to max out Smithing at Lv100.

Only at the higher material tiers. For iron and leather, at least, you still get more XP out of your materials for making iron daggers and leather bracers than you do for for using them in the larger recipes at that tier (eg, 5 iron daggers will get you 192 XP while an iron armor, also 5 ingots, only gets you 94.2 XP). This is thanks to there being a flat 25 XP added to the XP you get based on item value.

I heared you can reach smithing level 100 by crafting 1000 iron daggers...

Not anymore. With some patch they fixed this.

awww too bad
Yeah that's why I was asking. I remember being able to get it up really easily and early, and had heard that they patched it in some way. But it sounds like with just a little extra work, it still won't take too long. I'm going for smithing, enchanting, and alchemy as early as I can, so I can make some bad-ass gear later on...
yeah the more expensive items you make the more exp
What do you do to reach lvl 100 fast then?
Smelt dwarven metals to make dwarven bows.
Yeah. Dwewmer cities can be quite lucrative. Especially when going under the Steed Stone and having Extra Pockets (level 50 Pickpocket perk) for having an extra 200 weight to play with, plus a follower. Heck, last time I went to kill the spider in Markarth, I came away with 51 ingots worth of dwarven scraps... Raiding a full city'll give you a supply of ingots that can be described mostly only as "insane". :)
275 gold ingots and 275 flawless diamonds = 100 smithing, or on the steam workshop there is a mod called ring of rediculation, cost 1 gold ore to make, put it on then grab 13 gold ingots plus 13 flawless diamonds craft 13 gold diamond necklaces = 100 smithing
