I wish there was a Star Wars game like Skyrim
I've been in a bit of a gaming funk lately, but also a Star Wars kick. Some good dev should make a Skyrim like game in a Star Wars-like setting... Just saying. :)

(If there are any games like that that I should check out, please let me know. I haven't played KOTOR 2 yet, for example, but I'm afraid it might be dated...)

Have you played the first one?

I would love a StarWars game with a world as detailed as Skyrim, but a story as mature and great as The Witcher 2.

Then it being "dated" should not matter that much since they both look the game.

I don't want to sound catty, but why would you even comment on this if you aren't interested? Commentary only brings salience...

Well....... KOTOR 1 seems pretty dated to me. 1024x768, no controller support, etc...

Hey, just started a group looking to use mods to make KOTOR 3 using skyrim as a base. Look us up in the steam groups. "Knights of the Old Republic 3 Initiative" or KOTOR3 Initiative.

That would be cool. You may want to look into all the star wars mods for Skyrim. This is one of the mod lists i was able to find by quickly looking: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=194773159

Not sure if we'll ever get something like this for real though, with the current state of SW licensing.

lol EA would never do anything that cool. Just expect more garbage multiplayer-only games, and
if they do publish any single player games they'll probably suck.

I think this would be amazing, and really fun, to create your own character, join light or darkness, plenty quests, open world and planets, explore and have adventure set in Star Wars universe.

It's been mentioned (a long time ago, in fact), but... go play KOTOR.

Kotor 2 is arguably better than the first game. It's story is deeper and a bit darker, it improves the gameplay a bit, and there's better interraction between you and your companions.

Of course the first game has other advantages, but it's VERY much a Fallout 3 vs Fallout New Vegas situation. Which is interesting because Kotor 2 and New Vegas are the same people, making sequals to other peoples games that come out being more beloved than what they were following.

Kotor 2 actually on Steam was updated to work better on modern hardware, aswell as the steam workshop doing other things like controllers and better resolutions.
