Deathbrand Quest (Dragonborn DLC, possible spoilers)
Okay, so I remember doing a quest on the Xbox version where you go around Solstheim collecting pieces of his Stahlrim armor set (I THINK it was Deathbrand, but I can't remember).

Would someone please tell me how to get the quest started?

At first I thought it was started just by reading the book, but that didn't work. Then I remembered a pirate camp somewhere near the Skaal village and that there was some chest you had to open there. But that didn't work either. So either my game is glitched, or I just can't remember how to start the quest.

You have to get a treasure map from one of the pirate chiefs.

Talk to the Innkeeper in Ravenrock, that will start the quest where the you get said treasure map just north of Skaal Village. I assume without that quest, there's no Pirate Chief north of Skaal village.

Thanks, both of you. Although I'm not sure about the whole innkeeper thing since I don't remember talking to him last time I did it. Still, I didn't find a map on the pirate chief, so it's worth a try.

Well now I've run into quite a problem. I talk to the Dunmer who runs the Retching Netch inn and ask him if he's heard and rumors. He said "No." I then went and checked the place where the pirate chief normally shows up to find that the bodies have all disappeared from when I slaughtered them earlier. And by earlier, I mean much earlier. As in, I don't have any saves before that anymore.

So now I either wait and see if they respawn at some point, or I just use console commands to get the treasure map. Still, this seems like quite an oversight on Bethesda's part, not having the pirates respawn within, say, a day after you've slaughtered them (if the player doesn't take the map, of course). I just find it weird that I didn't even see the map. I could have sworn I checked all their bodies thoroughly just as I normally do with any NPC (not in the way some of you may be thinking right now).

your game is glitched, it should start when you read the book. with the book in your inventory save your game, then load that save-then read the book again
