Only runs on low setings on good gaming laptop
Well like the title says my new gaming laptop only runs skyrim on the lowest settings, anything above that and it CTD with no error msg's at all, the lappy def has more then enough power to run it and I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.
Here's my specs

Intel i7-3630QM 2.4Ghz
12 GB ram
Nvidia GTX 675M
windows 8 64-bit

I've tried installer extra DX9 files, lowering the audio quality and a whole bunch of other stuff including a reinstall and not putting anymods in yet.
Any help would be very appreciated :)

i'm not an expert on computers by any means but people tend to ask the basic like have you installed the latest drivers for your graphics card?
Ah yep fair enough, Yeah all the drivers are the latest inculding the graphics card, its a bit of a strange problem to be sure
it is weird what about going into nvidia control panel and making sure the nvidia card is the preferred card on global settings?
Windows 8 is your culprit. I've been running on Windows 7 for about a year, before I upgraded to Windows 8, and couldn't get Skyrim to run at all, until, I crippled it and ran in the lowest video mode my beastie will run. I have a Core i5 at 3.2Ghz and 32GB RAM and EVGA(Nvidia) GT 520. Needless to say, I immediately rolled back to Windows7 PRO 64-bit, which wasn't fun or easy. I'm never going to Windows 8 on my tower, I do have a Windows 8 laptop, if I really feel the need for frustration. I ran on Windows XP PRO X64, before Windows 7 and it ran beautifully on that. I talked with Bethesda Softworks and they have no plans on making Skyrim Compatible with Windows 8. Hope this helps. :)
Your laptop is running the game on the integrated graphics. I've made that mitake a thousand times.
sometimes it's not down to hardware tho as a guy said a few comments back it may be an issue with windows 8 compatability and your running windows 7 (like me also no probs and i play on a "ok" laptop)...and crying is alot different from asking for help which is clearly what skarden was doing.

I was not talking about Skarden, I have seen this comment for a while now.

No, its all good, its hot here too, lol.
So,about playing it on a laptop...I connected mine to the TV I use to play the PS3 with HDMI cable.
From the 14in. screen to a 24in. TV,and with good performance with everything high, and the laptop only costs 600 dollars :)
Thanks for he reply guys, very appreciated, I've found what the problem was, ( straight after I've crack the ♥♥♥♥♥ with it and posed about it of course ) it was my old save games I imported from my desktop, I couldn't load the latest one, turns out I had to load an older one and it was all good to go, pretty bloody obvious thing to check really now that I've fixed it annoyingly :/
again thanks for he reply guys and maybe this will be helpfull to someoen else who has the same problem :)
get razer game booster and make sure your laptop is plugged into the wall my performance takes a huge hit if im not plugged in.
Razor Game Booster?
kicks ass its free it minimizes backround program influence and just takes away whatever lag it possibly can, works with all games doesnt interfere with steam
