The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Statistiche:
Skyrim Trouble...
Right, so I downloaded the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim through Steam and can't even play it.
I figured since this content was developed by Bethesda, it'd be pretty buggy, but I had no idea it would be literally unplayable.
Not only that, but it renders my whole Skyrim game unplayable.
I can't play Skyrim without getting a crash to desktop in under 5 minutes every single time!

Before you ask, I tried uninstalling all my mods, reinstalling the game and the dlc, verified the steam cache, but I still get crashes. And no, there's no error messages at all.
Virus protection and Afterburner was also off.

Thank you for your time.

probably bethesdas fault since you seen to be the ONLY one with the issue
You may need to delete the data folder and then verify the files, there may be left over stuff from the mods that is causing the crash.
Of course you'll have to reeinstall the mods after this as well.
@CyberDown I'm not the only one with the issue. People are posting about it all over Google. There's just no one supplying any help, so I figured I'd give the Steam community a try.
@The Baron I'll get back to you on that possible fix once I have more time to try it, thank you.
Oh something just occured to me...if you delete the data folder you may want to save or backup your save file first.

If there are saves you would want to keep that is.
So I didn't delete my Data Folder. Someone in another forum section recommended downloading and running TES5EDIT from SkyrimNexus. After doing so, I fixed two incorrect mod orders in the data files that the program had pointed out. This stopped all the crashes. I can now finally play the Dragonborn DLC.

Thank you for your time and effort though, The Baron.
It is always the Mods or the Computer.
Not always. Bethesda does a horrible job at coding, let along constructing games.
Skyrim needed like 20 patches before they finally said, okay, the rest is up to you guys.
And it's still buggy as hell.
.. just curious JetAge, If you delete Dragonborn from your data folder, then start the launcher & let it finish it's checking subscribed mods routine - then start a New game .. is it still unplayable ?
- Or if you just load an older save, is it playable & stable ?
Just wondering if something else is suddenly causing the problems other than Dragonborn.
I couldn't tell you, because I haven't tried those.
Again, all I did was download and run TES5EDIT and fixed the mod load order issues the program told me to fix.
