Would I like this game?
I have a question regarding Skyrim. I have played Daggerfall and Morrowind in the past and I really did not like them. They seemed to lack focus. Is Skyrim an improvement on them or is it more of the same with updated graphics and engine?

Btw do u guys think this game will go -50% or even better discount?
There will be a Bethesda game pack thing - soon, i would wait.
if you could define focus than i could help you out more but I do know many people that have said that skyrim is better than daggerfall and may be the best elder scrolls they have ever played

In my own opinion Skyrim isn't great because of the story, it's the mods that make it so much fun. Hell my own game is so modded anymore and it couldn't bear a Bethesda logo. :D
Start from his first series, do not skip stiv.
Its the best Game of the World

Thanks. At first I was sold, and then I realized the funny guy talking wasn't actually part of the game. Disappointing. The game itself seems to suffer from the other Elder scrolls problems of having it's focus scattered. They let you do too much to the point where nothing is especially refined. My opinion of course. I'm not a fan of using mods, too complicated in my experience. Not for me then, but that's ok, I am an odd sort.
in the past i played oblivion and really don't know what to do, because i don't find the "main quest", i just steal everything in every house i see and don't do any quest. I skipped the game and few years later i started Skyrim. I know what i have to do and do lots of quest (nethertheless i don't know whats the "main quest" is), and i really enjoyed it. After i tried Oblivion again, and i haven't such problems again. I think i needed just some "game experience" or maybe now Im old enough to handle those much side quests.

By focus I mean they let you do this and that. Tons of stuff really. To the point where nothing is really gripping. Sure you can do a lot, but most of it is lacking polish. A lot of it dead ends and doesn't tie in well. Combat and camera angles feel clunky, story seems shallow. NPC conversations seem forced. Way too easy to end up in a place where you shouldn't be until much later, the character customization doesn't seem important because you basically get everything eventually.

Keep in mind I am speaking of experience in past elder scrolls games, not Skyrim, as I haven't played it.

I appreciate your input. I'm not sure experience or age are a factor for me at this point though. Closing in on 40 years old and nearly 25 years of that I have been playing games. Regardless, you might be onto something. I will try loading up morrowind again and see if my stance has changed since then.
I would say you would like games like The Witcher series far better. It has a much clearer focus (the story does have branching depend on your decisions but it's frigging awesome, and very intense) while still offer enough side quests for you to mug around outside of main story. If you haven't got them already then you may want to wait a bit as they come on sale with 75% discount very often.

Another one you would want to watch out for is Dark Soul. While story is very subtle, it is very focused yet offer enough side stepping for your enjoyment (there is an entire DLC-part that is included in PC version for free that is entirely optional, and that part is quite huge). The combat is very intense. The only thing though that game is unforgiving and would be considered hardcore by current player generation, which is intentional. Seriously though if you like Action combat RPG, Demon/Dark Soul is the best when it comes to merging action and RPG.
