About hearthfire and plot lands

[OLD] i just got hearthfire and dawnguard yesterday which made me so happy xD, and i finally got my first plot of land after actually becoming thane to get lakeview, after running out of lumber i try and finish the quest to buy lumber but no mill owners will sell me any no matter what i do, i cant even seem to asign anyone as my steward to buy them that way, i will happily take any help or tips to try getting this working because i would hate to have to start a game all over again after 86 hours of play.[OLD]

Ok now i really do need help i created a new game after trying everything everyone has helped me with and nothing works, i did everything all over again, i have the unofficial skyrim patch and heathfire patch, i brought lakeside view, got the quest to go buy lumber, went to aeri's lumber mill, did the quest for her to hand in the note, then gave her like 50 firewood, when selecting the lumber quest i get no option to view where it is on the map, im at a total lose thats 2 characters that its notletting me buy lumber please somone im desperate for help :(

You might have to help a mill owner like cutting wood, so that he/she trusts you. I have not had that problem though.

Do you have the Unofficial patch files for Skyrim, Dawnguard and Hearthfire? If you don't, consider getting them as they fix a lot of bugs and minor problems in the base game and DLCs.

i have constantly helped out the mill owners and still nothing even went and got another property of land and yet again still nothing, as for mods i dont know which ones your meaning id rather not cheat or anything since this is my first time playing =/

i have tried them as stated before but nothing works :( is there anything that needs to be specifically done before you can buy sawn lumber?

Have you asked the housecarl Rayya to be your steward? If you have at least the basic house built she will have the option for you to ask her.

Some of the people hanging out at the mills are just the hired help. You have to talk to the mill owner to buy lumber. That might be your problem. If you can't get any of the others, try Riverwood, Gerdah's hubby will sell lumber same price.

i have gone to every mill and talked to every person round the mill sold lots of lumber to each of the owners and nothing still and its really ruining that side of the game for me....

No i havnt since some reason the game never gave me her as a housecarl, the jarl said he gave me one but she never turned up and its been least 2/3 days since i completed that, and i cant get any other companion to become my steward =/ i feel like im running out of options but im not sure

i have just tried all the solutions everyone has given me and none of them seem to still work =/ is it my game or is it actually a glitch =/ cuz i dont know anymore

1) If you've got the mini quest to buy the lumber, did you select it and go to the mill and owner it specifies? Maybe the game locks you out or something 'til you do.

2) Have you added the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch (by Arthmoor - should also get his Unofficial Skyrim Patch and his Unofficial Dawnguard or Dragonborn Patch, if you have 'em)? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=101261708 Take note of the load order instructions a bit down the page.

3) If you do have the UHP, have you tried disabling your other mods? There might be something conflicting with Hearthfire.

1) - no if i try and press M on the map for it sometimes it does nothing other times it takes me to a random locations where there are no lumber mills so its confusing

2) thank you very much for offering this to me i will give it a try and see if it resolves my issue if not then im back to square one again

thank you everyone for my help but that patch did not seem to have worked but right now every time im able to press M on the quest it sends me to this location

been to dragon bridge and the mill owner there dosnt want to sell me any either.

if anyone else has ny ideas please its ruining the game in some ways for me

Have you tried the mill near uhh Winterhold? It's north east on the map? There's a mill there (I think Ange's mill or something, spelling questionable) they might be able to sell you some/if you help her she will let you cut wood for free.

Also about the housecarl: have you gotten Lydia and made her follow you? She stays in the jarls keep/home/whatever area that is.

yes i have her and no when i go to talk to her she has no option to become a steward of a house at all :( none of my follwers do.
also yes i have tried that place i have gone to every lumber mill the game offers =/
