3rd person combat is pretty good.
Mounted Combat sucks ♥♥♥.
open world is the benchmark of open world games every game out there stole there version from bethesda who has been doing this since 1996 on open worlds with daggerfall arena wasn't very open but i guess it could be considered an open world game.
the rest of the game is great some of the quests are broken but can be fixed really easy with the unofficial patches. the graphics and sound are good for pc not the best unless you learn how to tweek the ini files and learn how to to mod the game using the Nexus and not the Workshop.

overall you will end up getting 200-300 hours out of a game if you do all the quest for both the main story the civil war story line and all the dlc and faction quests thieves guild alone is atleast 20 hours mage on the other hand is really short.

bought it. its my first game since fallout 3 from bethesda.
fallout 3 was not entirely my alley hopefully this one is better.
i loved fallout 1-2 but 3 just was to clutterly and messy and well it lacked much of the sense and style of the old games.

i only had very few annoying bugs during my 323 hours of playing actually i only remember one that made me use the console to spawn an item that was gone bacause i cleaned the dungeon before i fetched the quest related to that dungeon. to avoid this i recommend the "quest awareness" mod. some bugs are kindof funny ... (bugspoilers:) you might encounter some odd things like a certain lady that likes to sit in your bedroom and stare at you while you sleep, or a guy called louis letrush that is duplicating himself. (personally i hope they did not fix that bugs... i kindof like them :D )

My advise, don't hesitate to dive into modding but once you do follow this tip:

First download BOSS When you run it a DOS prompt will appear and push the number for TES V: Skyrim A webpage will launch showing every plugin you have. Click on Recognized Plugins and it tells you exactly what to do.

Then use Tes5 Edit[skyrim.nexusmods.com] to clean the dirty edits it tells you need it. Click this link if you don't know how to do that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3g_N1jcZQ

edit: I aught to work in there some mods require SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) and how easy it is to use that.

personally i just use a few immersion enhancing and graphic boosting mods that i get here from the workshop. normally i dont have more than 25 mods installed. casual light modding if you want to say so. i really like the vanilla gameplay just as it is, but i cant resist a good camping mod, enhanced landscape and water, lusher trees, shootingstars, birds and such little additions that dont change the game but make it richer. maybe i missing out not using nexus... i used it for oblivion.but i really like the simple steamworkshop.
