game isnt starting

im trying to play skyrim on steam,when i hit play it just tells me steam is loading the game... however it just sits there for hours doing nothing. ive uninstalled the game deleted the folder out of the steamapps file then reinstalled the game twice and still im not getting anything help?

delete everything in your steam folder except for the steamapps folder and steam.exe. then run steam.exe and let it do it's thing

so basically uninstall steam itself?

yeah. also, make sure your drivers are up to date.
