Deathbrand Armor
Stahlrim armor...
If you're a spell caster there are some modded, pre-enchanted robes. You're able to unlock light armor versions of those robes (I'm not sure exactly how to unlock them)

As far as I'm concerned, deathbrand and stahlrim aren't in the Vanilla skyrim.

#SuperLotus97, that seems like a good idea. I can perhaps take master/archmage robes and break them to get their enchantment, then enchant Glass armour.

#Hailey, I said no Dragonhide armours.
i like the nightengale armor that you find at hags end myself lol
all of the Light armor is the strongest armor in the game with enough enchanting smithing and alchemy even Hide armor can hit the armor cap.

My suggestion would be heavily enchanted and improved glass armour along with the Amulet of Articulation. The problem with Skyrim is that practically anything above ragged robes can be enchanted and improved enough to hit the armour cap, so it's really just a matter of preference. Glass armour looks nice.
Gropax and sierra_seven_ are correct - with high enough Armor and Smithing Skills, and perhaps with the help of enchanted smithing items, smithing potions, and/or the proper enchantments, just about any armor can be improved to the point that it reachs the armor cap. Glass would be the best to max out the earliest, but otherwise just pick what you think looks the coolest.

Stahlrim is in the Dragonborn DLC. I've never heard of deathbrand before though. But other than that, glass would have to be the strongest.

Thanks for the help. I've tried this now, and my glass armour has hit the cap (legendary, maximum armour) and has the enchantments of HP+++ on torso and helm, light weaponry boost+++ on my gauntlets and element resist+++ on the boots. Now, all that is left is to enchant my weaponry...
What's wrong with dragonscale anyway?
