My suggestion would be heavily enchanted and improved glass armour along with the Amulet of Articulation. The problem with Skyrim is that practically anything above ragged robes can be enchanted and improved enough to hit the armour cap, so it's really just a matter of preference. Glass armour looks nice.
Thanks for the help. I've tried this now, and my glass armour has hit the cap (legendary, maximum armour) and has the enchantments of HP+++ on torso and helm, light weaponry boost+++ on my gauntlets and element resist+++ on the boots. Now, all that is left is to enchant my weaponry...
