The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim Legendary Edition
I've just bought the "Skyrim Legendary Edition" (pre-ordered). Whenever I try to install it it forces me to install it in a specific directory. This is not good for me because I install all my games in x:\games\ for better management. Also, I've realized that I need to have a constant internet connection to play the game, which is also unacceptable because there are times when I don't have an internet connection (I want to play on my laptop).
I legally bought the game so here is what I want (as a costumer)
1. The right of choosing where I install the game without having to install third-party applications and/or scripts;
2. The right to install it from the dvd without having to start steam client with a bunch of parameters;
3. The right to play it when off-line without having to tweak around the client;
4. The right to copy my entire install directories to a new computer and having the steam client on that computer to recognize it without going to the all install/configure/tweak process again (like in the good old days before all this DRM crap)
Thank you

bro,are you high? you dont need an always online connection plus why the ♥♥♥♥ do you install your games in your games folder and not steam?????
for your 4th right that everyone has and you dont even know is that
if you want to play skyrim on a different computers
its called
installing steam on that pc/laptop
either your a bad troll or your serious i can't tell because your being retarted in so many ways
plus im pretty sure you can't play skyrim on a laptop unless you have a gaming laptop with you
Steam lets you install on other drives, Steam looks after your files, Steam works upto 30 days offline?
@[BF3] ☣The Biohazard☣ I'm not a troll, but I do like to control my files. I do have a gamming laptop.
@Tox LAximus Steam can look after whatever it wants. I want to control my computer, not let the client do it. Plus I demand the right to use my game off-line for life if need be, I bought it, it's mine, not Steam!
@Steam the level of the responses is at the level of the comments. I hope Steam is more sensible than some of the sheepeople that troll the forum (Sheepeople people that act like sheep, the sheepard order and the sheep goes whitout asking why)
If you're unhappy with how Steam works (or want a refund) you should contact the customer support. You might get a refund for your purchase, but I doubt that they are going to change how Steam works just because you don't like it, especially since most people seem fine with the way the service works.
1 + 2: install the game where ever you want on your harddrive. In fact, install STEAM wherever you want.

3. Once installed and verified to your account [registered], select offline mode.
TADA no more internet required.

4. Use STEAM Backup/Restore feature.

You must be retarded. If your a gamer you shouldn't have to worry about haveing internet once every 30 days. And calling sheeple just makes you look like a tool.:csgoct:
I didn't know about this 30 days thing. This thing is, I haven't been forced off line for more than a week in the last 15 years - I moved house. But I can't help thinking, what if I lost my job and couldn't afford the internet? Or what if something else bad happened so I didn't have the internet?

I don't like any need to be online guys. Even though I can't see a time when I couldn't log on every 30 days I don't think it's a good thing to have this requirement hanging over me. It just doesn't feel like a good road the gaming world is heading down. This is not a troll; it's a concern for the future.

Not sure why you specifically want those things as a costumer, I would have thought you'd like some fancy clothing instead. Still...

Steam allows you to install all your games in the place of your choosing, but you need to set it so that all Steam games download to the same place. It's not that hard, I also download all my games to an external 1TB drive for file management purposes and so I have can play any of about 50 games when I like without having to worry about uninstalling any first.

You don't have to tweak anything to play off-line, Steam has an off-line mode. But unless you're still on dial-up, I wonder why it being always on is that much of a problem? That's the whole point of broadband, it's always there. I agree that not being able to play unless you're on-line is a pain, but that's something quite different.

Agree with this sentiment. On the plus side, the Steam article on off-line mode doesn't specify a time limit:

I've played offline for more than 30 days at a time. I was never told that I had to sign on.
