Did you check Jorrvasker? If you still have quests to do for the companions she may be there.

Did you fight a group of bandits at the house recently? Perhaps Rochelle the Red has her... http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Bandit_Attack

1) open console with "~" key
2) type "prid 1a697" without quotations. Hit enter.
3) type "moveto player". hit enter.

. . . or you can check to make sure she's not kidnapped before doing console commands that break quests.

They must be pretty dumb bandits to kidnap her and not leave a note.

It's not all that hard to miss notes, especially if you're in the habit of hitting 'r' the instant the loot interface opens. And it's even easier to miss if you've just dinged or (and this has happened to me many times with other quests, assuming it autos [can't remember - been ages since I lost a spouse]) you picked up an item that completes another quest in that mass loot...

(and it's always best to eliminate the most obvious possibilities before doing something that can break the game, like moveto player'ing an NPC)

i haven't been playing skyrim on pc very long so please forgive me if some of the info i mention is already what you have done when i first strted playing on pc there was alot of bugs more so than xbox so if you haven't already on skyrim workshop download unoficcial patch for all four of the dlc bieng dawnguard, dragonborn, hearthfire, and high resolution texture pack, as well as the main game it may not fix it on that save file but it may prevent it in future new chacter saves if this missing wife thing is a bug if not then maybe youre playing too long alot of info i heard was that bugs/glitches/problems happen from playing too much a similar problem happened on the xbox version i played it for about 14 hours i go into my house on the game and bamn my wife flys into the air and boom is dead was very sad so that is a possibility not saying for sure but playing too long like i did can cause problems so just to see if the probloems kinda get better try playing for about 5 hours a day see if it helps i understand its hard when youre hoked on a game but try that see what happens and yes i know there two seperate problems and systems but look at it this way consoles use pc hardware of course there programming is different but give it a shot

Condolences on the loss of your wife, Gunzerker360. Seems very real sometimes, eh?

One of my kids disappeared for a short while once. It was right after I had purchased a new house. I think they get "confused" at times about where they're suppose to be. Anyway, I had just headed down the road to go see if I could find her, pretty worried, and there she was walking towards me. I talked to her and found the option to say, "You need to go straight home right now!" Off she ran. LOL

I also lost a horse once. The one my follower rode. (I have the AFT mod.) Checked the stable where I'd bought him, but he wasn't there. Tried fast traveling to see if he appeared. Nope. Told my companion to "round up all horses I own." No show. So I figured the horse had died, and I bought a new one at a different stable. A couple of weeks later, my companion shows up riding that lost horse instead of the new one!

Yes! I told the Solitude Alchemist her daughter was dead and I felt really sorry for her, poor old lady.

So, because I had helped her, I can take most of her stuff because she likes me, so I cleaned out her shop and felt really guilty about it. So I paid for some recipes and ingredients to make me feel less of a git!

And I'm supposed to be a Dark Elf Nightblade Assassin! But even so, I can only enjoy robbing greedy nobles and killing evil NPCs and monsters. I don't get a buzz out of playing evil characters.

Should have been a Paladin...

And Gunzerker360 is correct about the PC version having more glitches and bugs. Things can go astray due to memory problems, overheating etc which is made worse by playing for a long time. So save very often. Sometimes, the textures go all weird and lose a lot of detail, so I have to save and reload to set it.

True, I have stopped doing that recently. With Real Needs and Diseases, a lot of food you find is rancid, so I check what's there before taking it.

And with SkyUI 3.4, even if you swipe an NPC's inventory in one go, you can see in your own inventory whether you have a note you haven't read. Anything you have read has a little eye icon next to it.
