Effective Spellcasting WITHOUT Dual-Casting?
My mouse sucks and has trouble with simultaneous clicks (I've already wasted too much money trying to find one that comfortably fits my hand, so replacement any time soon isn't really an option) and if I successfully dual-cast (or dual-attack, for that matter) on a fifth of attempts, I consider myself lucky, so the question is:

Is it possible to be an effective primary spellcaster without dual-casting? (Destruction and/or Illusion, mainly - Alteration & Restoration are fine as support without dual-casting, while Conjuration just seems to get extra duration out of it)

EDIT: Not concerned about Expert, Master, or Legendary difficulties.

I really like playing Skyrim with a XBox360 for Windos controller.

And a bump because I really would like to try it - but if it'll become ineffective (forcing me to resort to Conjuration and Bound weapons & skills) later on, I'd rather not find out 10-15 hours in...

Sad. Seems that single-casting for a pure Mage (ie, not relying on Conjuration or One=/Two-Handed and Archery for offense) starts petering out in the late teens.

Oh, well. The search begins, I guess, for a vaguely-decent wired mouse that was made for normal adult hands (as opposed to Andre the Giant's hands or a child's hand). A more difficult search than it would appear. Local stores seem to have mostly wireless mice (utterly useless for any purpose), and ordering online is unreliable because with most stores there's no way to tell a mouse's actual size 'til you get it. :(
