First Dragon wont give me its soul!

I have killed the first dragon at western watchtower but it wont turn into bones and gives me its soul. Is this a normal problem or something else

This is not normal, i would just start a new game

try starting from a save before you fight the dragon if that doesnt fix it may have to start a new game

I had this prob all day had to remove all mods one at a time to find conflict, started afresh still had it, when back several saves found one just after killing dragon playing new game from there so far OK. Note I took skyrim unofficial patch off it just causes more probs than its worth! and have put mods back on.

It's a problem that became frequesnt after the release of the DLC Dragonborn... Since this is early in the game, you might want to deactivate that DLC, and THEN reload an earlier game until you get the dragon soul. After that you can exit the game and reactivate the dragonborn DLC.

Personally I would actually suggest installing the unofficial patches (but make sure to also install the ones made specifically for the DLCs), I have at least a positive experience from them.

try to shout, if you can then play on, if not save your game then load that save and see if that works.

Amycus, I still have the unoffical Dawnguard patch on but I will look into reloading Dragonborn DLC after skyrim patch thanks for the help. Note I do not have much problems with skyrim itself other than background programs and double mouse, have a fix for this on nexus just got to subscribe to it later on down the track. At the moment I live with it.

i remember when i played skyrim for the xbox, it got to the point where the dragons did not disintigrate but i still got its soul. this may be that if you can shout. if you cant shout then you may want to start new game.
