mouse/keyboard not working

I redownloaded the game today and when I am in the game my mouse and keyboarand 360 controller won't work. I have tried a reinstall, a comp restart, and changed the bGamepadEnable to 0. The game has all the button markers for the controller in game so I tried plugging the controller in and it also doesn,t work.

it sounds like your usb drivers are off. try updating them, and or reinstalling them.

Thx for the suggestion, but it works with absolutly everything else. Skyrim is the only thing I am having problems with.

if skyrim is the only game you are having issues with,
1.) I would try to make a clean save.
2.) then try verifying game cache, and see if that fixes the issue, if not
3.) try uninstalling and re-installing the game. but before you reinstall, defrag the drive.

Just a suggestion - - plug the controller in before launching the game, it could be that the game is recognizing the keyboard inputs and ignoring the newly found device.

I'm having a similar issue. I think something is interfering with the way Skyrim loads my keyboard and mouse. These are the noticiable changes since the last time I could play.

1. Mouse does not load at the Skyrim menu to Continue, Load, Options etc. However keyboard's arrow keys and enter key work in regards to selecting from those menus. Only the enter key can be used to select instead of A or B for yes or no. Can't select No.

2. Once In game No keys on the keyboard work (except for alt/tab and perhaps alt/f4), and the mouse does nothing in game. If I alt/tab out and back in twice and create the double mouse bug (where the Desktop mouse overlaps the User interface) then the desktop mouse will move around properly but has no effect on where I look in game. I just stand where I loaded.

I hope this more specific issue is the same with you and that this will better inform everyone on how to resolve this issue.

DOH!~ Ok everyone :) here's my solution! ^^ unplug your Gamepad controller. Looks like Skyrim gives preference to any gamepad controller you have plugged into your computer over your keyboard/mouse method of play. Not sure how to edit settings to change that,... but that's my fix. ^^ enjoy!

scryer18 this may be a very late reply, and not sure you get this, but this thread was on the money for me! I freaked out for 10 minutes before I googled it. Had my xbox controller in the usb and just pulled it out. Easy fix. Thanks!!

The unplugging the gamepad didn't work for you two? Could it possibly be your mods installed causing issues?

Or, after unplugging the controller did you re-boot your computer?

Same here. Suddenly the keyboard is not working at all. Not even in the main menu.

I can use the mouse but the keyboard behaves as though it's not even detected.

To be clear, I'm using the same mods I've been using over the past 3 months.

I can't use my keyboard/mouse only § works and i used ps3 controller then i got a new pc tried skyrim and a month later this happens

Same here, only it does not want to work on steam either. Works fine on my non-steam games
