Both of you, do you have any mods installed? They're the biggest cause of issues, and when there's an update, tons of mods will break. Also, Master, load a latest save. If you can't, and you don't have mods installed, turn down your settings and try again.

#1
it's a BETA Patch

#2
99% of the mods out there could have conflicts with the patch. That's why the BETA is out now so mod authors can verify whether their mod has problems, and they can correct them.

#3
Just don't use the BETA patch if you have problems. This is expected, that is why it's a BETA

#4
You can go back to Skyrim 1.8 by opting out of the BETA and restarting STEAM

I don't have mods. But I'll see what I can turn down, worth a go, but I think it's a programming issue with the game. It crashes when I try to save in any way or press a key for some reason..it acts like russian roulette..it's after the point when I drink the vaermina's potion and enter the dream stride...then the crash just happens at any given time, by pressing any key....strange.

@Master Dan

That's a known bug with the 1.8 patch. Turn off autosave and don't try to save from the time you drink the Torpor until you exit Nightcaller Temple. Once you exit the Temple, you should be able to save normally.

It's supposed to be fixed in the Beta patch that OP is having a problem with.
