Thoughts about how the war in skyrim will affect the future
since the septim bloodline ended in oblivion i thought that maybe it was time for the empire to end, so i went stormcloak after thinking about it for some time. i juggled around the thought that yes it was what the thalmor wanted, and the empire does wear the the amulet of talos but they still let the thalmor walk all over them and there beliefs which no septim would ever do. my point here is that when the septim bloodline died so did the empire, they got soft and the imperials have turned to dunmer basically but now i like dunmer more than imperials! so with all that said if an empire is to exist, it cant be what this one has turned into, and it cant be the thalmor or even ulfric with where his head is at now, there needs to be a non racist leader because when ur a breton like me and join the stormcloaks and they only talk about nords even though u do most of the work its a bit annoying. so with future dlc, could we be fightin the thalmor because it definatly seems like it and also could high rock and orsinium maybe even hammerfell join with skyrim in this fight? so my question is what race did u pick and why, what side of the war did u pick or wish u had the option to pick, and how do u think this is going to be relevant for future dlc.

Let me just preface by saying that I have not experienced or played through all of Skyrim's quests and my knowledge of TES lore isn't infallible. Thus some of my thoughts or ideas might not be entirely accurate or possible, so bear with me.

The way I see it, it would make the most sense (on top of being the most interesting) if Ulric's rebellion was considered canon in the future. From what I've seen the Empire's interest in putting down the rebellion and maintaining control of Skyrim is mostly to appease the Thalmor as well as hold onto whatever hollow dignity the Empire actually has left. Cyrodiil is in terrible shape and is more-or-less slowly bleeding out and the last thing they probably want is to give the Thalmor a reason to swoop down and finish them off after they barely scraped by the first time. Regaining full control over Skyrim is probably not going to magically bring the Empire back to life and it will probably only delay its inevitable dissolution.

That being said if the rebellion succeeds and Skyrim becomes independent things get a lot more interesting and that's where Hammerfell will become a lot more important.

From what I understand Hammerfell refused to surrender to the Thalmor and even managed to throw their enemies out of the province and keep them out. At the time the game is going on Hammerfell is basically a free-state that is virtually untouched by war and is thus in the best position to emerge as a MAJOR player in the future.

If Skyrim was to become independent I could definitely see Ulric and the Stormcloaks turning to the Redguards as a potential ally in the inevitable Thalmor counter-attack/invasion which would follow. Now, some might say such a thing is impossible b/c Ulfric appears to be racist/xenophobic but honestly I think these views really only apply to Skyrim itself ("Skyrim is for the Nords!") and not the entirety of Tamriel. If Skyrim and Hammerfell were to ally against the Thalmor not only do I believe that they could defeat them but they might also inspired other provinces to throw in with them.

Long story short I think the world we'll see in TES VI will be one without an Empire and instead Tamriel will be made up of independent states - most likely with Hammerfell being the top dog.

I think Skyrim will come out ontop because Hammerfell consists mostly of pirates and Mercenaries at the moment so them join skyrim would most like just bring back lost men in the war against the empire so im hopeing the really big change is more Bretons hahah cause skyrim and high rock have come together in the past

I'm playing a khajiit character so picking a side hasn't happened yet. It would be nice if the storyline would move along with some of the creature races banding together to quietly overthrow both the Stormcloaks and the Imperials.

Doesn't being the Dragonborn mean that there is some of the Septim bloodline in you?

no, Tiber Septim was dragonborn, but the gift originates with akatosh himself. Khajiit are part of the Aldmeri Dominion, btw.

is looking like the Aldmeri Dominion is going to become the primary power in Tamriel, though. i dont really care, cuz personally i hope that TES 6 will be set in akavir.

Elsweyr is a client state of Aldmeri Dominion. They pay tribute to Aldmeri Dominion (instead of the Empire, since they separated from the Empire) but they are not exactly a Dominion State.

No, he won't.
Forsworn are actually another kind of Bretons (half-elves). The alliance of High Rock warlocks and Skyrim warlords were after all butchered by Talos himself (super sneaky Water Breathing enchanted heavily armoured ninja troops). Since Ulfric was being compared to Talos, he gotta kill a few Bretons to keep the reputation. Castle Volkihar is only being tolerated because it is closer to High Rock, as well as the nearest Nord city is Fortitude which belongs to the Empire lovers.
