Help please! I can't travel from Solstiem to Skyrim with companions!

I cannot travel from Solstiem to Skyrim with my companion (via boat or fast-travel). This may not seem like a huge deal but I really wanted to bring my Riekling to Skyrim; and, he's carrying all of my stuff.

Whenever I try to do it it just goes to the loading screen but simply stays there forever and doesn't load. Even if you don't know a fix but you know a console command or mod that would help me that would be great! Thanks.

1) How do you the Riekling as follower? And 2) I think that the issue since Serana followed me to Solstiem and back...

You could use the coc command to put yourself somewhere else. In the console, type "coc whiterunorigin" (without the quotes) and you'll end up just inside Whiterun.

This worked for me:

1. Go to this file:
Skyrim.ini
2. Location:
C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim
3. Section:
[MapMenu]
4. Remove it, if you have this:
uLockedObjectMapLOD=8

I have not tried to change the value but you can experiment.

If it works, please spread the word as there is a lot of confusion about the fast travel back issue.
