Bethesda Say "Don't Use Mods"
I emailed Bethesda because after downloading their Hearthfire DLC, I could no longer enter my Breezehome in Whiterun without CTD. I have loads of stuff worth thousands stored in Breezehome. So here is their reply which I find unbelieveable:

"Unfortunately, we are not able to provide technical support for a modded game, I'm afraid. As all mods are custom made by the community, rather than Bethesda, we have no way of knowing how they might effect Skyrim itself.
As such, we cannot adapt DLCs/patches to mods, so the creators of mods will have to adapt their mods to Skyrim. However, when there are official updates for Skyrim, some mods may no longer function until they are updated by the creator of the mod.
This, I'm afraid, means I will have to ask you to uninstall all the mods you have, including the Hi-Res Texture Packs (I do realise these are official, but they are still classed as mods) to see if this may fix the problem.
I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
Best Regards,
Michael D.
Bethesda Technical Support"

This is my reply to them:

"So really what you're saying is don't use mods even official ones! I find that unbelieveable because the modding was part of the advertising for Skyrim. That's not including the much vaunted Steam Workshop! Plus how come this much touted by the community unofficial patch, seems to be able to address this problem but Bethesda who have far more recources and know the game much better than the creators of this unofficial patch, don't seem to be able to? That also means that the rest of the already released DLC and the DLC yet to come, is effectively off limits to me unless I want to start the game from scratch all over again, this time though without any mods installed! This just isn't feasible when I've already invested over 150 hours into getting to the point I'm at now!
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement as this is one of my all time favourite games!"

I would be interested to know what the community on here think?

Bethesda is correct, you're a tool.
What a pathetic comment! How old are you?
They didn't tell you to "don't use mods" but only to disable and try to see if you can load your game. They're right when say that mods are not theyr business, are fan made and you should contact the creators or post the problem here or where you get the mods, Valve, Steam, Zenimax or Bethesda have nothing to do with mods.
Sounds like a reasonable response on Bethesdas part. Do you expect them to keep track of every mod and adjust the game accordingly so they ALL work? Since the modders do this for free they should be willing to update their mods on their own rather then force Bethesda to waste time and money to fix little problems caused by the mods.
Yep that totally blows I feel your pain but well yeah it sucks.
Yeah but the point I'm trying to make is that the modding of the game was one of it's advertised plus points as was the Steam Workshop by Steam. Plus I have posted the problem here and was told there is an unofficial patch that cures the problem. But I wanted to find out the 'official line' from Bethesda before using an unofficial patch. Plus Bethesda is saying that even their official high res mods could be a problem which again, is a contradiction.
I'm not saying Bethesda should keep track of every mod Maloy20 but if an unofficial patch can sort it out, why can't Bethesda?
It's not Bethesda's duty to fix issues with mods.
It's always been the same saying: Use at your own risk.
If a mod breaks your game, complain to the mod's creator, not Bethesda.

What even if Bethesda are the creators of 2 of the mods?
Regarding the Official Hd Packs they said "it's in fact a mod" only 'cause are two .esp files that can create conflict with the vanilla games (indeed they do, are bugged) and if you have issue with your house you need to reset at vanilla to see if it's a mod related problem or of the base game, and you can see it only by disabling all of your mods. You don't need to uninstall, nore they said that, only unchek from the luncher then play. If all goes well start to check one at time and play, and so on until don't you find what cause your problem. No need to bother Bethesda with this questions. And the mod community are people like me and you working for no money in spare time, Bethesda are people alredy working to address problem at the VANILLA game plus ufficial dlc. And need much more time of what you can think.

Bethesda's official patches are tested with the vanilla version of the game and it is well known that there are Mods that do not agree with other Mods, so the comment about disabling gives you the opportunity to find out which ones are actually interfering with your playing. I have played over 400 hours and apart from a couple known glitches have not had any problem and no crashes.
It makes perfect sense to have the modders adapt thier mods rather than wasting time from the development of the game to update thier game for all the mods. You have two options: 1, Delete all your mods, or 2, wait for the modders to update. Bethesda did not say "Don't use mods", they simply said,"We aren't going to waste time on fixing the game for every single mod as that is something the modders themselves should do."
No one is going to be on your side here. Yeah, the fact that you can get mods is a selling point for most, but how many times does bethesda have to warn you that they are fan made and they can't control what some may do to your game.

About the only official thing you can do about a rom is if it's broken and harmful, you can report it to steam and maybe get it removed from the workshop.

Also, how exactly did you expect them to fix your single player game? Develop a bug fix just for you to download?

Is it Fords responsibility to refund your car that you broke trying to mod?
Bethesda isnt responsible, you are being silly.
i can understand why bethesda said that because most mods tend to ruin the game.
i for one loved modding back when i played oblivion and modded it to the point that the game was lost and i was only occupied by mods and saw none of the bethesda made content.
i tried modding with skyrim too and i always felt disatisfied by how the game turns out to be the feeling of " this isn't how the game is supposed to be played" feeling.
now with skyrim i don't use mods when playing anymore i like the game how it is and it is so much more fun/challenging this way! and after all we still have the DLC's

but then again you should at least be "there" ( a modded TES game that lost its originality) at least once to understand me....
