When are we going to see Skyrim Co-Op?
I am sure this may have been said a million times before, but this would be awesome if they did. I heard something about a mod that allows you to coop somewhere. Not sure what the truthfulness is on that.

Never

Closest thing your going to see to co-op is Skyrim online. But then of course you will also see a million players doing nothing but trading all day.

the problem tends to be syncing both worlds as you have your on-computer client desiding where everything is. so while on your computer a NPC walked left, on the host it walked right, they try to move it, but they have to do this with everything, and also, keep it's aggression all the same, make sure all the dynamic quests lines sync up. basically you need A LOT of bandwidth to even make it semi-possible.

"When are we going to see Skyrim Co-Op?"

I hope never.

But if such a thing gets released I sure won't join in.

never, and if we do i won't be joining in
it would ruin the point of playing a sandbox rpg unless you can guarantee the other player(s) will not break character and frankly no one is capable of that these days

Co-op invariably ends up being PvP even if that was not what was intended. Some people will always willfully choose to take unfair advantage of others who they deem inferior.

Are you CRAZY? No co-op no multiplayer. You want that go play WoW or Elder Scrolls Online. Not every game need co-op or multiplayer. I don't want my ES games to be co-op that would be defeating the purpose.

I personally wouldn't mind if it were an OPTIONAL feature as it is with other games, but it would be a feature I never used.

The problem as I see it is that adding Co-op play would require a MAJOR rewrite of the game engine and play mechanics, and that would only add yet more bugs to an already bug-ridden experience.

And some people would shamelessly exploit bugs to their advantage. Fair play? HA!

One more nay vote. Misanthropes need games to play too, you know :P

Wow, I didn't even think of some of this. It would be a hassle though I guess

ElderScrollsOnline: coming this year. Still waiting on my application for beta tester to be confirmed, so in essence that's sounds like what you're after. But to be fair, I like the "solitude" of walking around Skyrim on my own.

In my experience every time I've joined a multi-player/co-op game I've spent more time watching my back so another player didn't back-stab me so they could loot my corpse than actually playing the game.

Yeah, the isolation of Skyrim is much more enjoyable for me because I can experience the game I paid money for. Co-op would totally change the game experience IMO, and I would never play THAT game.

bit off topic but - Halo 4, offline co-op with one of my best friends is great fun. But that really ain't my bag. I'm with you furryoldguy, the isolation that Skyrim offers is superb.

I do myself like the isolation, but I think if they could succesfully figure out a way to have an optional coop that would be fun too.

They have already figured it out, it's called The Elder Scrolls Online.

Ever notice that Co-op/Multi-player options are part of a game from the start? Adding such a radical feature to an already existing game would be a disaster. You think Skyrim is buggy now? Add Co-op or other such extensive rewrite of the game engine/mechanics and you'd make the game near infinitely umpossible to maintain. People would look at the current bugginess and see it as a "Golden Age of Bug-Free" Skyrim.
