Dragonborn is the Worst DLC I've ever paid for.
Every major quest broken and now my reg skyrim is shot.

Works fine for me and a About 10 million other people. Make sure your load order is right. Also, Tons of mods Confict with dragonborn, so if you have additional mods turn them off and if that helps turn them on one by one to find the culprit. ALSO, installing new DLCs no matter what game has a chance to mess up previous saves, start a new character.

I spent more time in forums trying to get thru game breaking fixes for major quests then playing this DLC. finally finished it after jumping thru so many hoops and fixes my head spun and now to find out after returning to skyrim that my game is pretty much shot. Animations, followers you name it. Now I have to uninstall the DLC and try and get my game back to where it is.

I would highly suggest to anyone that has not purchased this DLC yet to wait a couple months till the major bugs are taken care of. I will never spend another dime on a Beth DLC again.

I've been modding for 12 years MIKSTER. I know crap when I see crap.

well I would suggest go to nexus modding community and search for answer.
I have experienced many bugs and crash here and there after i install the DLC.
After a few hours of research, i realize i need FNIS, Boss, and unofficial dragonborn dlc patch to fix several issue in my game.
Now my game run like a charm!!

Most of the more significant bugs have already been resolved with the unofficial dragonborn patch. That said, currently not running it myself and the only issues I ran into were mod related, all of which have been resolved once authors updated them for the new DLC, ie FNIS.

How dare Bethesda not make it's DLC compatible with the thousands of mods in existance! For shame!

Another complaining mod-addict. No compassion from me.

Actually its very easy and common practice when building mods and DLCs to use custom resources and editor IDs that will not conflict or effect existing or new mods DLCs. I have been doing it myself for years. They just didn't put in the effort and cut some serious corners by not doing it. Shame it was nicely laid out just bugs to no end. Didn't have a single problem with Dawngaurd. But they took the extra time to build that one right.

LOL there are thousands of mods out there Bethesda isn't going to pay someone to go thru and check the ID codes for every mod out there. they make DLCs for Vanilla games not MODDED games. its not there fault that you want to run 100 or so mods with no conflects.

@Lee i'm guessing you don't understand the concept of custom resources and editor IDs.. They would not have to go thru all the mods..lol.
Michael Aurelius Feb 9, 2013 @ 7:31am
You are the one who installed the mods therefore it is your fault because you were the one who modified the file. If you really want to fix it - perhaps try a reinstall with removing all mods.

@Unkindbydesign.. agreed. But its expected on a steam forum.. You get people like the post above me Archangel that don't have a Clue about game design. And unfortunitly thats how software companies like Beth get away with the shortcuts and bugs.

News flash for noobs.. Skryim was built to be a modding environment. And there are very easy ways to build DLCs like this the right way. I know this by having over 12 years experience doing so.

Ok. To all those people saying that it's hard to build a DLC and account for mods: Do you know how mods work in this game? A DLC is essentially a paid mod for this game and it functions the same.
REZ01 Feb 9, 2013 @ 11:09am
@Gatorsurfer. I couldn't of said it better myself.

I do want to explain the topic and title to this thread.. I don't mean to be misleading saying the models and story line where the problem. Those where very nicely done and thought out.

Although I still felt something was missing.. but can't put a finger on what.

The title of this thread was more the final design and packaging end of it. I gotta say it made the experience absolutly horrible. I really did spend more time on forums finding fixes for gamebreaking errors then playing the DLC and have uninstalled it since.

and BTW. for the mod bashers out there, I had one climate mod installed for this play through. And it had nothing to do with the errors in the DLC. Most of the errors where overwrites in the BSA file included with the DLC. Anyone that had unpacked their Skyrim BSA was screwed.
