Dragonborn Crashing

Pre-ordered dragonborn, since that download, game crashes anywhere from a few seconds to a few mins (No error message, no notification, just instant return to desktop. No game mods, great pc, all updates/drivers current, skyrim only game effected. 165hrs under 10 saves. tried all standard fixes, still no fix. i cant find a solution on steam, Can anyone assist?

yeah i cant even play Dragonborn... Ive downloaded Skyrim twice now in the last 2 days.. Fresh installs no mods at all crashes to desktop no errors or anything sometimes it freezes aswell and just sits there not responding on task manager.

Ive used TESedit to "clean" Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard esm's nothing seems to work.

You can also try right-clicking your game in your library, clicking properties, and verifying the integrity of your game cashe. That most likely wont fix it, but you can also try downloading the unofficial dragonborn patch on the steam workshop. its been extremely helpful to me so far. What video card are you using? I had problems with skyrim all the way since release before I got a new video card

Yeah i have tried verifying cache, im using xfire 6970's

From what I know your card should be MORE than capable of handleing it. only thing left to try is uninstalling it and re-installing it. you might not like it, but if the problem isnt fixed after that... its a hardware issue and not something we can help you with.

well it never crashed before dragonborn was installed. I have over 200 hours logged on the game and its been playable since this patch and DLC

I've done the game cache a few times now, reinstalled the last steam update, tried all graphic levels. ive got 3rd gen i5, gtx 560 s/c 2gb, 16gb ddr3 1866, only skyrim (since dragonborn purchase) is effected. still no fix.. dont know what else to try. ill keep trying, hopefully something works.

Exactly the same error for me - Tried disabling all addons, various driver versions etc. nothing seems to work.

Found a half solution.. The game I have that keeps crashing, i saved in in the hearthfire house. I loaded a saved game where i was in solitude, and it allowed me to play, so i ran around a bit, saved it a few times since it was working, went back to the house, and it crashed upon entering the door. reloaded a new save i made, game is fine, but returning to house crashed it again. so, i can play, but ive lost access to everything ive collected.. all ive got for now. good luck everyone. ill keep trying.

Think I have a fix. Saw this thread on the Nexus forums http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/908667-dragonborn-ctd-and-freezes/

Simply need to change your uGridsToLoad in the skyrim.ini file back to uGridsToLoad=5

"In order to lower your uGrids, first you need to change them to value that you used in the save (for example 7 or w/e you had), then load the save, go to an interior, edit Skyrim.ini and change uGridsToLoad=5, and then type "refreshini" in the console."

Worked for me... no crashes so far.

I'm having the same problem, except my uGrids are already at 5 since I've had to reinstall the game.

I've been having the same problem, but only when I save, enter a building etc. basically anytime the game loads something or saves something. Bit of a noob when it comes to some things, can someone tell me how to change uGridsToLoad?
