HD Texture Pack; Iadded it, but now Iwant to remove it. How?
So, I clicked to add the HD texture pack, then realized I don't have the space for it. How can I remove it from my DLC list so it stops telling me I don't have enough disk space?

On the launch window, click 'Data Files' then un-tick the 'HiResTexturePack01.esp' and 'HiResTexturePack02.esp' both of which should be near the top of the list. Or go to the relevant mod section of the Steam Workshop and click 'unsubscribe' which should stop it trying to DL.

They aren't mods. It's official DLC.

Dunno if its possible. Tried cleaning your drive for garbage?

Try this program; http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
I use it to clean my C: drive now and then.. If you have never used it, it might find alot of old files that can be deleted.

Or maybe you need to buy a new HDD and install it there if thats possible

Uninstall unplayed games. Copy pictures to disk and/or a backup drive and delete them. Buy bigger hard drive. Uninstall un-needed programs from your computer.

I don't think you can stop the download. As with all DLC material, once your subscribed to it, it has to download.

It's the one thing I don't like about Skyrim's OfficialHighResTextureDLC.

Unless you contact support and have the DLC removed.

Which is really a very user UNFRIENDLY way of doing business. Something optional like the HD Tex packs should be easily removable by the player without having to waste time dealing with product support. The HD Tex packs are free so no need to waste time of support people and the consumer dealing with with the issue of trying to remove the things from one's game.

Steam offered the Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1 mod for free, and because it was on the workshop it is EASILY removable from the game if someone no longer wants it. The HD Tex packs should be offered in a similar fashion, easy to SUBSCRIBE to, just as easy to UNSUBSCRIBE.

I know I am not the only one who tried to use the HD Tex packs and then stopped because the blasted things made the game unplayable.

Then to make the HD Tex update be flagged as REQUIRED, without ANY explanation on Steam of what the update was addressing, is only more evidence Steam apparently doesn't give a rip about the people who paid their money to play the game.

Turn off auto Updates in properties, after you uncheck hdtexture 3
