Make sure dragonborn is in the correct load order; put it before any mods. By default, STEAM adds it to the bottom.

Also have this problem; very annoying. Have you found a fix?

Where do i go to change this?
my load order is Skyrim.esm,Dawnguard.esm,hearthfire.esm,dragonborn.esm and alot of mods serveral miles lower.

Try verify game cache
Update skyrim. check the gamecache, deactivate all mods.

Same problem: yes I use mods, but the actual luncher itself won't let me into Skyrim.

Update: went into local data, the game data is loading in the order suggested (I disabled mods first, because I figured that was the issue. I can confirm now that they are not; even disabled there is this problem.) And the load order is as suggested. What would be the next step?

I have also verified the game cache twice. Hmm....
i use 82 mods 80 are on but i dont had any startup problems yet just some freezes after i played dragonborn. and alot bugs.

Restart Steam and allow it to finish any other updates that may be required. Afterwards launch the game, but do not start it. Now let it check for any updates for any mods that you may have, once that is done click on Data Files>scroll down>click on Dragonborn and click the up button to move it underneath Heartfire. Once that is done click OK and then play to your hearts content. That should fix the problem with crashing at the launcher.

Thank you, gentlemen - I might just reinstall the game. Regards for your time, however. If the problem persists then we know it is a fault in something Steam's end.
