Can't absorb souls after installing dragonborn DLC
Hi. I recently installed the dragonborn dlc. I killed an ancient dragon right after I installed it, and I didn't absorb its soul. I read that you can't absorb the soul of a dragon that you already killed. So I went to a dragon's nest I haven't discovered yet, and I didn't absorb that dragon's soul either.

I have a ton of mods installed, including the unoffical skyrim patch, texture mods, get snowy, ESM filter, Magic Duel, and realistic lighting.

Is anyone else having this issue? Are my mods to blame?

Thank you. You are the only person I've seen give an actual correct answer to this.

Unofficial Dragonborn Patch fixes it.

No it doesn't. I just installed UDBP and I'm still stuck at the beginning of the main quest. I installed the other unofficial patches, uninstalled the unofficial skyrim patch, and every other combination I could think of, none of them worked.

Sorry. To clarify: If the Unofficial Patch caused it,
The Unofficial Dragonborn patch fixes it.

I had this same problem. I never had the unofficial Skyrim patch, but I did install the Dragonborn patch and it resolved my issue. Double check your mod load order and make sure the update is immediately after Dragonborn. If that still doesn't work, you might have another mod that is conflicting.

I have the same problem as well, can't absorb souls at all. I didn't have the skyrim unofficiall patch and the dragonborn patch didn't change a thing :(

Any mods that effect dragons? Be a good place to start.

If you're asking me then nope, nothing. Just textures, some spells, stuff like that. Nothing about dragons because I was affraid something will break...

what if you dont have any of the unofficial patches and you are experiencing this problem?
dantam9000 Feb 15, 2013 @ 4:01pm
Am I understanding right? I have Dragonborn an I should uninstall Unoffical Skyrim patch 'cause it conflicts with Dragonborn? I also have unoffical deagon patch. Have only played the dragonborn dle once just to check it out as I still have a lot to do in Skyrim. So, do I need both patches or one or the other? Thx, friends

In your case, both or neither.

hey guys just a heads up. ive talked to a few people now that had same problem. one big facter is that alot of people seem to mix there mod source with steam and nexus. i have fixed many peoples mods for this reason. biggest one is the unofficial patch. if they are not all from the same source they will not play together. make sure they are all from the same place.
