Instant-Crash Blues . . .
So I have basically been having the same issue for the past month or so. Everytime I launch the game, it just keeps on fricken crashing. It does not even go to the main menu, just instant crash. I use to be able to play with out any crashes. I have no mods really installed. Help?

First of all have you downloaded any mods from nexus or subbed to any on steam? If so then download BOSS When you run it a DOS prompt will appear and push the number for TES V: Skyrim A webpage will launch showing every plugin you have. Click on Recognized Plugins and it tells you exactly what to do.

Sorry, what do I do? It just says a bunch of stuff about cleaning and what not. Help?

ok, there is a much simpler way to fix this problem than stated above ^^
what you should do is to Test run with TES5EDIT
just let it load with all your mods and such and see how it runs, if you get and error it will tell you where in the load order it fails. if it is a mod thats making you CTD, then clean your mod. if you unsure what to do then watch some of there vids

if it still doesn't get fixed, then you need to chage your loadorder (BOSS will also tell you with mods that have dirty edits and such aswell) if all failes then just delete the mod that is the sinner ^^

you got to use TES5EDIT to clean your mod, it will take around 30-50 sec for each mod. and NEVER clean more than one mod at the time.

if you don't know how to clean then go to the cleaning link in BOSS or watch some of Gophers videos,

he knows what he is doing, even tho he is slow to get to the point. but he covers like 80% of TES5EDIT in these vids tho ^^

oh and goodluck ^^

Okay so I found the "sinner." It was a mod called Skyrim Monster Hunter v12, I really want to keep it so how do I make it so I can keep it?
CuddleBear Feb 4, 2013 @ 4:18pm
that can be a problem........what does BOSS tell you about the mod?
is it Dirty? if so clean it. you can call me on skype or something if you need a guide.
if you have cleaned it, then there isn't much than loadorder that can fix it. what does the mod page say? does the author say that they have conflics with some specific mods? if os you need to make a choice.

and don't worry about calling me, il take the call and gladly help ^^

Well, on BOSS it tells me it is active and clean, but it tells me that Dawnguard and Skyrim and Hearthfire and also updates are all dirty.

that is true, you can easly clean those files, and it isn't harmfull for the game at all.
the most important thing to look for is Undeleted Records (UDR) you can easly fix those tho ^^

but now at the thing at hand. im not really sure about the mod you are using there, are you sure you got all the required mods for it too work? like does it ahad a master file (if you check for masters per plugin with the Nexus Mod Manager.....just click you plugin in qustion and check the master files on your right ^^

if you have everything there (the masters) then im not really sure. i personally whould delete the mod. if there is any mod that give you that much trubble, it isn't worth it. that jsut me tho.
tho the mod could be a little old and not updated, if so you should comment on the mod and get in contact with the maker of the mod.

BTW: got a link for the mod?
CuddleBear Feb 4, 2013 @ 4:42pm
ok, i tested it myself without any mods, the mod is outdated and broken ATM. and i can't reconmend using it in its current state. leave the mod

if you want new mosters in the game, then get the Skyrim Monster mod replacer. its a good mod but the difficlty can spike at times in my opinion.

Okay thanks! Yeah, I just uninstalled and the game is now crystal clear! Thank you so much, I can finally play now in anticipation for Dragonborn! You are truly the Skyrim Guru.
