What do you look for in a well made house mod?
Ideas?

The Beginner's Shack is still my favorite house (hovel) mod. Riverside Shack is also tops. Guess I like small, cozy and unassuming.

That and nude statuary.

Understandable, I haven't found many house mods that meet "pleasnt to the eyes and quick to load." I was thinking of making something like Shivering Isles, but as a home.

Somewhat lore freindly, I DL some of the gawdy big house mods and quickly grew to hate them, somewhat customizable as well. I use Riverside Lodge for all my characters now and consider it to be as close to perfect as I'm gonna get.

I like ones with show rooms as I like to keep all unique items on show. The problem however is most are too small, and the ones that aren't are way too big.

I tend to prefer the smaller and quirky houses. My favourite home is the Rayek's End mod, it has some really nice features to it and is really well done. One thing in particular is the alchemy area as it is really quite unique.

I don't like larger homes because it tends to be masses of mannequins and weapon racks/plaques. It just feels bland and cold. I find that you can make smaller spaces much more inviting and interesting.

One thing I also like are small, secretive basements. Think of Anise's Cabin basement, that one near Riverwood, but with some unique and inspiring decor. I'd like to see more like that.

I don't know about a house, but I'd love a mod in which you own a tavern/inn. Especially one with loads of NPC's all doing various different things, with some nice folky music playing and basically making the place feel lively. Does not necessarily lore friendly.

Sadly my skripting is not up to par for this, but sounds wonderful for a future mod.

Hmm now thats realy easy to pull off, but I would rather something that could be a challenge.

Do like i did, make your own little island off the shore somewhere and build a nice outside area as well as a small home on the island. Its abit challenging to do :). One note though - if you create your own world space don't use any landscape painting that uses grass else you'll have random grass in the main world space as well as in interiors popping in and the 'grass fix' doesn't resolve the issue at that point.

Far as the Inn with different npc's doing different things, doesn't really take any scripting, just AI Packages and Patrol points setup. Take a look at the various AI Package types and you'll see there is alot you can do to the NPC without doing any scripting.

Thanks, though I was workig on my mod and it turned into a floating island with the portal doors from Dawngaurd and the SEruinTempleDeck. It's looking good and I'll take a look at the AI packages.

No firepit near the front door, so when your spouse (not me of course) comes in after a few meads he doesn't become a Nord Crisp!

Display cases can be activated. Room for the family, separate bedrooms for the kids. As if I could make the North tower, from Heaarthfire, a library so I would have bedrooms, kitchen and library in the same house.
