How to enable vsync
Hi, I need to re-enable vsync.
I am not a big fan of frame-limited games but without the limit I go up to 120-150 fps in the wilderness.
This is causing every object to explode when I open doors and water flashing, making me get stuck when I mine next to a place that has water in it.

I tried looking in the skyrim steam folder (steam, steamapps, common, skyrim) skyrimprefs.ini but there is no "ipreventinterval" option, same in skyrim.ini.
This line is only in documents, my games, skyrim BUT the ipreventinterval is set to 1 and the vsync is not activated...
So how do I activate it?

Nevermind, found the simpliest and most logic solution :P
And probably the best one:
Enabled vsync for skyrim in the nvidia cotrol panel

Hope this will help someone

When you open the game. Click on Options. Click on Advanced. Check enable V-Sync.

There is no such option in the option window :P
Or am I blind..?

you edit skyrimprefs.ini and change the value of iPresentInterval to 1. iPresentInterval is under the Display section.

What the hell is wrong with you? D:
You seem angry with me for some reason...
Btw, as I said, I already found a solution, a pretty good workaround.

The skyrimprefs.ini he's talking about is actually located in Documents\My Games\Skyrim, for those who are going to find this thread through google.

What exactly do you mean by "explode"? I know you fixed this and everything, just curious.

The door opening animation makes the items in the room fly as if you fus-ro-da on them, also, you hear sounds like this all the time http://youtu.be/xE8aQaBSeyU
And here is the explosion bug!

Something that "ButtPacker" neglected to say was a very simple thing.

"and if it isn't there, you can add ipreventinterval=1 under [display]."

It's not there by default because vsync is off by default.

But you're right. . . he obviously either didn't read or can't read.

Thanks, his answer was very rude.
It was very simple afterall but I couldn't know!

VSync is on by default isn't it?

Note that knocking it off will make the game physics go haywire sometimes.

For some reason it wasn't on by default for me, on both my pcs!

It's pointless generating any more frames per second than your monitor can actually display. I use Nvidia Inspector ( a superb tool ) to do a global limit on my PC of 60FPS
