Freeze Frame problem, please help
Every few minutes of gameplay, the screen freezes. The audio continutes, resulting in animations continuing after the audio has finished. More than anything, it's really annoying to have the screen freeze every few minutes while I'm trying to play. I've checked all of my mods for conflicts and I don't see anything that should be causing this. Any suggestions for why this is happening? Is anyone else having this problem?

what hardware do you have?
The Rival Jan 2, 2013 @ 1:02pm
Intel i7-3610QM processor @ 2.30GHz in an Alienware M18xR2
I haven't had any issues running it before, just started after I fixed a CTD issue. And it runs everything else I have just fine.

graphics card is the info I need. I'm assuming it's pretty high end since it's alienware. Something is bugging your graphics. Could be a driver issue.

oh, duh, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M

Try some other driver versions. Steam will give you a driver, maybe that one will work better.

how would I go about doing that? and thank you for your help btw

you can go to nvidia .com ,the driver downloads section , 310.70 is the latest , i imagine there's one for laptops ,
just make sure you get an "m" driver
if your not in the US get the international driver

thnx pike, dling now, hopefully this will solve my problem :) this community is so helpful

also if you just got the laptop update directx (use the web installer available from microsoft downloads) , c++ ,2005,2008 ,and 2010 along with .net framework 4/4.5 ,

if the sound loops and freezes the screen that could mean your running realtek onboard sound and nvidia audio driver is enabled
do you have mods installed ?
are you using an enb ?
The Rival Jan 2, 2013 @ 4:23pm
I do have mods installed, and I don't know what an enb is :/
BoPacker Jan 2, 2013 @ 4:26pm
if the driver doesn't work, you need to work on the mods. There are utilities on the nexus that tell you about mod conflicts and determine load order for you. an enb is a graphics enhancing mod that improves textures or lighting or both, and maybe some other things too. You have the hardware to run one, which could make skyrim look fantastic, or it could cause it to look terrible if you screw something up. Typically, they are a good thing.

oh, yeah I have a static mesh mod and a lighting mod to name a few, I got rid of all the town and village improvement mods to not slow down framerate
pike Jan 2, 2013 @ 4:37pm
the static mesh mod will affect alot of mods you need to see what compatibility patches you need and/ or if its just breaking other mods, one or the other might have to go
download and run both BOSS and TESSEdit you can get them at nexus , you must read the readmes to use them correctly
The Rival Jan 2, 2013 @ 4:44pm
ok awesome. I downloaded the directX updater and it said I have the newest version already. I can't find BOSS or TESSEdit on nexus, would you happen to have urls? or know what I should search?
The Rival Jan 2, 2013 @ 4:53pm
ok I did read on the steam version of the SMIM that the nexus one is better, it's updated more frequently and has more bug fixes etc. so I unsubed the steam one and am installing the nexus one, maybe that will help. does the NMM organize mods into the correct load order?
