Steam for Linux Skyrim
Does anyone know if Skyrim (or any of the Elder Scrolls for that matter) will be ported to the new Steam for Linux client once it's officially released?

Probably not, since they aren't even available on Mac.

Here is something you could try (not tried it myself, don't know anyone who has):
1. Install Wine
2. Download Steam and run it (possibly with Wine, never used it)
3. Download Skyrim and run it with Wine.
4. Enjoy the game!
5. Profit?

Probably not. Hard to remove DirectX.

You'd have to pester Bethesda about it. But I doubt they will, because the meme of "not enough demand." is strong with a lot of developers.

On a side note: I did get Skyrim working in Wine, although performance was crap (though I do have an old PC), and had issues with the character constantly looking down at the ground.

I also have it working under Wine, though as Seph64 reported performance is subpar. It's too slow to play on my laptop, but my desktop is fast enough for it to be playable, though not as nice as Windows.
