Skyrim Keeps Syncing!!! Please Assist
Hello Everyone, I been trying to play Skyrim for a couple days now but every 30 minutes or so it crashes the game (with no warning) to desktop and I noticed that steam is syncing Skyrim every time this happens. What is going on!? I mean this is ridiculous...

Thank you for your responses and feedback.

Steam tries to sync saves to the cloud on exit of the game, whether you end the game or if the game crashes, it does not sync while you are actually playing the game so I think you will find that something else is causing the crash

however, to disable the steam cloud for Skyrim - in the Steam client, right click on the game in your library list, select properties from the dropdown list, and in the Updates tab, uncheck 'Enable Steam cloud synchronization...'

Eh it didn't work I am still experiencing crashes, Does anyone know what else might be causing it? The only mods I have installed are the official DLC (Hearthfire and Dawnguard), the Paarthurnax fix, Fall of the Space Core and the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. I even tried making a new Character in case previous mods I had installed were causing the crash but still having problems. Thank you for your responses.

steam sync cloud needs work. if you want to stop it all together there is an option in the setting steam menu to turn the sync off. ive done so and no more cloud crash. i only turn it on when i want to use the other pc.

i hav another issue from time to time as well. not related to the cloud or the sync. blue screen of death, has to do with the pc hardware. i honestly think its a fail safe to protect your hardware, over clock you system to long and it shuts you down. hard to believe with the 8gig quad core 2.8 and a 2gig video card. HD display and high game resolution can over heat and over clock the system.

If you download and install a program such as HWMonitor[www.cpuid.com] then run it while you play games, it will report the temperatures that your PC hardware is running at.

If you have a desktop PC with high temps - disconnect it from the mains, open it up and clean out all the dust using compressed air.

You can also run skyrim from skse (Skyrim Script Extender), which many good mods, like Skyrim UI, require anyway. Skyrim doesn't sync all the time, then, only when you close the game. Even when it's synching, you don't have to wait for it to finish when you open Skyrim with skse.

Paarthurnax fix?

Use mod if you don't want to kill Paarthurnax.

Yeah I forgot to mention also the Esbern Dialogue Fix mod but Ill definitely use that program mentioned above to keep an eye out for overheating and see if that could be the issue. I am not getting any error at all though as I said before just a crash to desktop.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it sounds like a problem with ram? I have come to learn that it isn't just skyrim that is doing it now but I had almost the same issue with Dragon Age Origins but this time when it crashed it gave me that crash error pop up that windows 7 gives with a program crash. (but still skyrim does not give that error) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as always and again thank you
