This is a common bug, Bethesa should hopefully be releasing a fix for it, eventually.

Random quest that can happen once you are married and have your spouse move in.

I wondered why I hadn't come across this as I have been playing Skyrim for quite a while now. Haven't taken a spouse yet so that explains it. Many thanks.

Same thing happened to me (and apparently others too) and there has been no fix from either mod or the company itself that fixes this mess. He's supposedly, technically, "dead" because the quest wasn't finished in time but it's not possible to delete or (if it's a mod follower turned spouse) reload and remarry. >:(

Lmao. Hearthfire quests are annoying, they said they took my wife and I didn't need her to sell stuff to really so I made her wait and just went along doing my own thing.
