I'm having terrible loading issues [FIXED IT]
I have no idea what's going on, but I've been trying all day to fix it;
I haven't played in about a month, but a month ago my loading times weren't upwards of a minute. They averaged about three seconds and at most took six or seven seconds, that's with Ultra settings, tons of graphics mods and other mods in general.
I tried to play with the exact same things; nothing changed at all, and my loading time getting into the game was four minutes long. Fast traveling takes a minimum of thirty-five seconds. Going into a building takes about a half a minute, then the same coming out.
So I uninstalled everything, all the mods and the game itself. I completely reinstalled the game, vanilla with and without the HighRes texture pack by Bethesda; same issue.

This should NOT be happening. My computer is more than capable of handling anything Skyrim can throw at it.
I have a Radeon HD 7850 2GB overclocked at 1450MHz,
16GB of DDR3 RAM,
Two 2TB 7200RPM harddrives,
and an Intel i7-3770 CPU @ 3.4GHz (8CPUs).

I'm stumped. I've spent all day trying to fix it; turn on vsync, turn off vsync. Turn on a cap, turn off the cap. Make a new save and start over. Make sure your save isn't over 15MB -- it's at 4.5MB. I just don't get it, I don't see what the problem is and as far as I know it shouldn't have a problem at all.

If anyone can tell me something that fixes this problem, I will be forever grateful. As it stands, I can't play the game; I really can't. This waiting time is just too high, I could deal with 20 seconds even but this is just insane. I'm spending more time watching the loading screen than playing the game; it used to be I couldn't read the first half of the loading screen before it was done.

EDIT:
To anyone else having these inexplicable problems; it's likely because you dual monitor with a television set. It was for me at least, my television had only 24Hz and I had it dual monitored. After I unplugged the stupid thing, my loading times went from 45~ to about 3.

Simply go into your control center and be SURE to check your monitor's refresh rate, set it at the highest your monitor can handle (for me, 60Hz) and you're good to go. This does not mean you can't still play on your TV, it just means you need to have about 60Hz to make loading times be normal. For modern TVs, shouldn't be much of an issue.

All this means now is I have more encouragement to go buy a new TV.

Well, I thing you have your answer right there. Mods broke your game. Get rid of the mods and your game will work perfectly.

Load time usually have nothing to do with graphic setting. Most likely your save file bloat (or just grow larger normally since more time play = more things appeared = bigger save file), you can try to clean it (there's a save cleaner on Nexus) but no guarantee it will fix it or not. If you start a new game, will it still take too long to load? For example my old save can take a min or two but when I start a new game it only takes 10 secs. If it does and save cleaner doesn't help then time to buy an SSD hard drive.

Wrong. I have a mediocre system and whatever graphics I choose have a lot to do withe loading time.

OP clearly state that prior to that with same setting/mods he has much quicker load time. His system can't just deteriorate on it own unless they overheat beyond the point of repair.

You must not have tead my first post

"...tons of graphics mods and other mods in general..."

Those will definitely work against your loading issues. Of course you will want to defend your point of view that mods are not the problem. So be it.

You don't even use mods so please don't tell others what to do.

@Robotic Device, most likely save bloat as I've said. How long does your new save take to load? I don't think so but maybe you can try to defrag your disk as well. Also check your GPU as it's overclock so there's a small chance it's unstable (very unlikely).

It is exactly because I do not use mods that I can tell them what to do! Don't you read three quarters of the posts? They all complain about their game not working because they are using mods.

I understand that you will go to all lengths to justify the use of mods because you use them yourself, but that doesn't mean that they don't create problems.

And you're saying that vanilla does not create problem? Funny because there are tons of problems on PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Of course you will go to all length to justify why your mediocre system and vanilla is perfect and anyone else who uses mods are crazy idiots.

Stupid people put words in someone else's mouth. Please reread my posts. Very few people who are playing vanilla are posting problems. People who are using mods are posting problems. Can you, in any way, say that I am wrong?
Big Boom Boom 20 May 2013 @ 12:52am
Funny because I see tons of people saying they play vanilla and has problem every day. Can I prove it? No. Can you prove it? No. Can you, in any way, say that I am wrong? No. Everything can cause problem, more things can cause more problems. Big note on CAN. It also does not help when out of 2.86m PC sales there are at least total of 1.90m people who uses SkyUI. Of course more people would report bug if they are using mods, because there are more people using mods than people playing vanilla.

In what world do you live in? People playing on the XBOX and on the PS3 account for more than three quarters of Skyrim sales, and they are all playing vanilla. Half the PC gamers are playing vanilla. So that means that the overwhelming majority is playing vanilla. Yet most of the complaints on the forums are from people using mods! What more proof do you need?

"tons of people saying they play vanilla and has problem every day" I totallty disagree with you. I have been playing the game for over 900 hours and have never experienced a game-breaking bug. I am not saying that the game is bug free as you people will accuse me of saying. I am saying that the vast majority of bugs are created by mods.

Dude, why would people play on Xbox 360 and PS3 come specifically to Steam forum to complain? Also there are tons of complaints about PS3 version on the internet, in what kind of world are you living in? What kind of proof is that?

I also play 470 hours with tons of mods and have never experienced a game-breaking bug. So?

You are not adding anything to the thread. You have a grudge against me... whatever.

Let's give the thread back to its original poster.
