Hi guys I have just brought skyrim on steam, offline mode works fine but the mods ive installed dont seem to work offline. I get a message when loading my game save informing me that some features are not available do i still want to load. I am new to mods as I normally use my 360 for gaming. I get the impression that some mods are working offline and some are not. Any help woud be gratefull. Im running windows 8. Thanks

The mods you downloaded from the Skyrim Workshop aren't exactly like the mods from the game's Nexus site; in that the Workshop mods aren't entirely installed on your game, but installed onto your Steam Cloud, which is what Offline Mode disables.

I haven't been able to verify this yet, but mods from the Skyrim Nexus would probably still work even if you went in Offline Mode since they're installed on your computer, not Steam Cloud.

Thanks a lot. should I uninstall my mods and then obtain them through nexus, I have looked at this but it seemed so simple just to subscribe and make sure they were ticked off in my data files. sorry if this is a daft question but is there anyway to make steam cloud available offline. I am new to pc gaming so thanks for the help. Skyrim is my favourate game of all time, to be honest any rpg from bethesda is awsome. I have been dying to try out some mods. I am normally online but occcasionally like it offline.

Tis your choice to make, my friend. :) Personally, if I was going to scrap the Workshop and just use the nexus for modding, I'd make sure all my Workshop mods are on the nexus before uninstalling anything, but I like the Workshop and all it's conveniences, so I just stay online for most of the time.
Is there any way to make Steam Cloud available offline?
While it would be nice for that to be possible, I'm pretty sure that's quite the opposite, unfortunately. The only way to play a modded Skyrim in Offline Mode is to have your load order filled only with mods from the nexus.
Any RPG from Bethesda is awesome.

Mods from the Workshop still places themselves on your harddrive in the /data/ folder. No difference there, in neither the location nor the file formats (*.bsa & *.esp).

True, the workshop just helps to keep the mods upto date (though sometimes updating a mod without consent can lead to a broken save if the mod in question has been broken by the same update)

Just as I've seen from snooping around in the darkest corners of my Skyrim data files, yes, though the functionality of Workshop mods seems to be absent when Offline Mode is activated, judging by the problems Assassin90Nine is having.

Thanks a lot guys really helpful info. Can I also ask is there a recomended amount of mods to have installed?, most of mine are small armour or weapon mods along with some chests with items, map markers, quest fixes, I have a hobbit hole, 4 new locations, extra gore, stuff like that , I have 32 in total. I would also like to say its incredable the effort people put in, some of thease mods imo should have been included in the original release. some of thease guys should work for bethesda. Alo workshop seems easier to find mods than nexus, but like I say Im nw to this. Can I get fallout mods from workshop ?

They say 120 is the max..... but I am just not sure. I suppose its a cross between how much your computer can take and how much the skyrim engine can bare... haha

The amount of recommended mods to have installed depends on your PC specs; if you're running on a high-end computer, then I might suggest... maybe 250 mods is Skyrim's breaking point? It all depends how big your downloaded mods are and how much Frames Per Second they eat up like Jaffa cakes. For more information of what 250 mods in Skyrim would be like, I suggest reading this article on PC Gamer; it's a good read. Here[www.google.co.nz].
Can I get Fallout mods from Workshop?
Unfortunately, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas were released before the Steam Workshop, so their respective developers had no intention of ever including it, and they still don't. Bethesda/Obsidian are completely finished with Fallout 3/New Vegas, so they'll never support a Workshop for those games... now, Fallout 4, on the other hand...

Just doing my job, just as everyone that contributed to this thread... and who said people on the internet can't work together as a team to resolve a problem? Lol.

Anyhow, I can give you a link to a great YouTube channel if you're interested in discovering some neat mods for Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Mr. BrownBearBreach.

Check out K-ENB Assassin, though this particular one is computer demanding.

It does indeed use DX9 effects.

0xFF - 3 (skyrim.esm, update.esm & your saved game) = 252 is the maximum number of loaded *.esp & *.esm mod files.
