Skyrim not starting (error code 80)

When i try to launch skyrim steam tells me that he wasn't able to start the game "(error code 80) can anyone help me pls ?

reboot your PC.
This is a common Steam error not related to Skyrim itself.

I think sir Redmond barry 1138 wants you to reboot ur pc if u get this error

Last week person post youtube on it, week before I stated how to do it. Just go to start, type in MSCONFIG, open tag startup and active steam problem solved.
PS then restart computer

...You don't have to reboot your PC, just exit and reopen Steam. Worked fine for me...

I have shut down my PC more than once, and it still won't launch. So, telling people to reboot their PC over and over and over and over and over and over is really doing nothing but pissing people off. Asshat.

Lara please just go to start use search, type in MSCONFIG, go to startup tag in box, activiate steam(tick box), apply then OK but you must then restart computer.
As I said before that is all you have to do get rid of error 80

When changing settings in computer thats a must. Going out and back into game may work but only temporary . It is a problem with windows and steam since day 1. Its to do with windows accepting the application. You may have untick and retick box, apply and OK, after that you reboot computer.

For everyone who may still be getting this error as I got it for the first time today, I only got it AFTER restarting my PC and installing some updates, so rebooting might not work for everyone. But, when I did exit steam and then restart it up, everything worked like normal.
