Game is very delayed
So I own just Skyrim and the first expansion (Dawnguard). The first time playing the game everything ran smoothly and I had no problems, though the more and more I played, even with new characters, I noticed a lot of delay in just about everything. For one, I created a mage that was a Vampire Lord in dawnguard, when activating the transformation to the Vampire Lord, the screen goes red (like it is suppose to), but my character stands there for up to 20 seconds before doing the animation of changing. Secondly, any time I level up, or complete a quest (just about any time a message comes up) the message will display, then about 10 seconds later it will make the sound it was suppose to make (most sounds are actually delayed, the sound of killing an enemy will come up a few seconds after the enemy is dead). Thirdly, and this is the part that makes the game nearly unplayable, I just created a new character today that was an archer. It'll do this occasionally; when I fire an arrow, my guy will do the animation of firing it, but the arrow disappears instead of firing. About 4-6 seconds later, the arrow will fire from my body in the direction I shot.

I don't use any mods at all, and I've done a fresh reinstall, as well as delete old characters.

What are your system specs? How much free hard drive space do you have?

Windows Vista 64-Bit, Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz, 6GB RAM. I have 122 GB of memory left, out of 683.

What sort of video card do you have? Have you tried lowering your graphics settings to see if that fixes the lag?

GeForce GTX 460, not overclocked. It's not a lag issue in graphics though, I'm running a smooth 60 FPS at all times. It's an issue with memory or the game I believe. Or both.

Nobody else had this issue and found a solution? Or would have any idea?

From what you are saying it soundslike it is your sound board or it's settings. Might want to look into it's config program and make sure you have it tuned up right.

It's not just the sound though. The soundboard wouldn't cause the delay im having with the arrow and the transformation.

Ever had any Mods installed?

You may have some files left over from mods, if you haven't already done so deleting all data files might help.

Is this happening even when you start a new character? It almost sounds like your save files have gotten too big and are causing errors.

I've never had any mods installed except the official HiRes. And as I've said, when I first started having these issues, I reinstalled the game and erased all saves. Happens with new characters still.

If it was a hardware issue, wouldn't I be experiencing similar issues in other games? I also own the fallout series and never have any issues with those. Also bioshock was the newest game I've installed and had not 1 issue.
It's an issue on your end; whether it's a driver or a Skyrim setting that your computer doesn't like. Hopefully you can find the cause. The "save bloat" might be worth checking [My Docs/My Games/Skyrim]

If it was a general Skyrim issue, then more people [if not all people] would experience the same issue.
