CTD near whiterun tower
It seems to wait until Iraleth arrives or starts speaking. I can't recall changing anything aside from a few settings in Convinent followers such as armor and setting my horse to essential.

Maybe something to do with the area around you? Maybe follow her than just rush ahead? Im just giving out some stuff that might be the problem. It could be any texture mods that change buildings or Skyrim looks in general. Never know.
