I am Khhhhajiit...I am at shyiorrr servisssse.... :D
My favourite build so far is one of these, a sneaky Breton thief who also happens to be a vampire lord, archer, illusionist, master of lockpicking and pickpocketing. Pretty standard, but fun to play.
Personally can't see that as being very good, given how long it takes to switch back to your 2H weapon when you run out of mana or otherwise just want to smack something...
A power attack can go through the enemy's block and cause damage, doing more damage than a normal swing which gets blocked every time. = Greatsword does does more damage...
The more Stamina you have, the more often you can parry through the enemy's guard, causing more damage and ultimately killing them a lot quicker than normal one handed attacks...
1) My last play was a male thief-centric wood elf.
Combat was divided into two sections - easy and difficult.
Most of the time, I went with the usual assassination stuff.
However, halfway through the game, I RPed that my character found a lost Dwemer ruin and spent the next in-game month learning the secrets of Dwemer technology.
From there, my character would make and keep packs of Dwemer automatons and items (from some mods) and would fight using them. Swarms of dwemer spiders was for most enemies. Dragons got some of those giant dwemer...mech...things O_o.
2) My current playthrough ^_^. A female alchemist, merchant swordswoman.
She drinks potions for stats, defense, attack and poisons. She uses a shield and sword. This is her normal state.
When she gets mad, or is in a tough bind...
She tosses about fire and freezing alchemical weapons (which explode), from a mod. She also sets traps, with moveable and carryable bear traps and potions that explode when hit. It's super fun to set a bear trap in a narrow path with enemies coming, place an exploding potion on it, then wait for the trigger when the baddies step on it XD.
Those were my last two builds, and the only builds I've done with mods ^_^
I was playing a pure summoner before the dlcs, and tried to kill most everything with just minions and followers, but it got fustrating due to poor ai pathing. I did manage to reach level 58 though.
Next I think I am going to play a pure hunter, no magic of any type, including enchanting. Just archery, smithing, light armor, sneak and alchemy. Might be hard considering I have a mod that fixes stealth, and the ai actively searches for you after you attack once.
