Interesting builds
yo. i'm sure there are countless posts about builds and playstyles, and they're probably all boring because they're based "on favorite" whereas 45% says "sneaky assassing with destruction" and the other 45% says "2handed lol" and the rest usually are weird, cool ♥♥♥♥. Like unarmed catwoman etc.

Let this thread be about those, and those builds only.

My last build was an altmer sociopath (in good altmer manner) who'se plan is to use illusion to have enemies kill each other for her, her not seeing battle at all - the last man standing in a melee is scared off or calmed. turn ud is allowed for undead.
funniest build yet:)

anyone else?

You might want to read them anyway, because "sneaky assassin with destruction"... Seriously? Any sneaky assassin worth two septims uses illusion if he uses magic. Fireballs aren't as sneaky as one might think.

My favourite build so far is one of these, a sneaky Breton thief who also happens to be a vampire lord, archer, illusionist, master of lockpicking and pickpocketing. Pretty standard, but fun to play.

those are like the most standard builds ever.. except for the greatsword one, but that sounds useless. why the greatsword?
Greatsword does a lot of damage and disrupts the Enemy's combat tactics with the Stagger property.....If you have a very High Stamina, you can wield a Greatsword very effectively...with devastating results...

Impact has the same effect though, and doesn't require stamina.

Personally can't see that as being very good, given how long it takes to switch back to your 2H weapon when you run out of mana or otherwise just want to smack something...

A power attack can go through the enemy's block and cause damage, doing more damage than a normal swing which gets blocked every time. = Greatsword does does more damage...

The more Stamina you have, the more often you can parry through the enemy's guard, causing more damage and ultimately killing them a lot quicker than normal one handed attacks...

A mgae who always uses a shield in his offhand. That was actually my first character. I WANTED to dual wield shields, but unfortunately the game doesn't let me :(
I can one hand wield my Greatsword and power punch with my other hand...Fun! :D

I briefly played a mage that focussed on Restoration, Illusion and Stealth. She would send in the tank follower and then hide in the shadows healing him. Also a super-stealth character that would pickpocket bandits, backstab with daggers, calm them if necessary and repeat.

My two most interesting playthroughs:

1) My last play was a male thief-centric wood elf.

Combat was divided into two sections - easy and difficult.

Most of the time, I went with the usual assassination stuff.

However, halfway through the game, I RPed that my character found a lost Dwemer ruin and spent the next in-game month learning the secrets of Dwemer technology.

From there, my character would make and keep packs of Dwemer automatons and items (from some mods) and would fight using them. Swarms of dwemer spiders was for most enemies. Dragons got some of those giant dwemer...mech...things O_o.

2) My current playthrough ^_^. A female alchemist, merchant swordswoman.

She drinks potions for stats, defense, attack and poisons. She uses a shield and sword. This is her normal state.

When she gets mad, or is in a tough bind...

She tosses about fire and freezing alchemical weapons (which explode), from a mod. She also sets traps, with moveable and carryable bear traps and potions that explode when hit. It's super fun to set a bear trap in a narrow path with enemies coming, place an exploding potion on it, then wait for the trigger when the baddies step on it XD.

Those were my last two builds, and the only builds I've done with mods ^_^
My current game is a pure mage, nothing but destruction, alt and resto, I have no kills with melee or non-magic range. I am level 50. I have a mod that increases magic damage for me and for the ai. NPC mages and archers are very tough to deal with

I was playing a pure summoner before the dlcs, and tried to kill most everything with just minions and followers, but it got fustrating due to poor ai pathing. I did manage to reach level 58 though.

Next I think I am going to play a pure hunter, no magic of any type, including enchanting. Just archery, smithing, light armor, sneak and alchemy. Might be hard considering I have a mod that fixes stealth, and the ai actively searches for you after you attack once.
