Problem with SKSE and Steam Cloud?
I am currently having trouble with the Steam Cloud feature for Skyrim. I accidentally broke the game while installing SKSE. Knowing this, I promptly wiped the local data and re-installed. To my dismay, I found that the game still does not work. I am assuming this is because Steam Cloud is reinstalling the files that broke the game. So, am I right about this? If I am wrong (which I may be,) what is the problem? If it is Steam Cloud, is there any way to fix it other than going through the files manually? Thank you for reading and I hope I can fix this!

Yeah, I can't be sure what happened to your copy without sitting at your keyboard. But I would turn Steam Cloud AND Auto updates OFF, if you are going to use mods. (Which I assume you are as you were installing SKSE)

This is what I would do.

1 - Turn off cloud
2 - Delete local data
3 - Use Windows Explorer and make sure the Skyrim directory is physically deleted
4 - Delete the following folder Documents\my games\Skyrim
5 - Click Start, and in the search box type "%appdata%" (No quotes)
6 - Back up one directory. Out of "Roaming" and then enter the "Local" directory
7 - Delete the "Skyrim" directory in "Local"
8 - Use CC Clearner to check your Windows registry for errors

** You now have NO TRACE of Skyrim on your system

9 - Re-download / install Skyrim
10 - Make sure Steam has a chance to patch Skyrim after install
11 - In steam at the top left of window, click "Steam" and then select "Backup and Restore Games..."
12 - Make a local backup of the Vanilla install you just did. (This way you don't have to wait on a huge download the next time you have to re-install)
13 - Now install your mods. CAREFULLY hehe
