Hey guys, I know this has been asked before, but I can't absorb Dragon Souls
I have checked my load order, and set all my mods not to load, but I still can't absorb dragon souls. The dragons dont even burn up. I have dragonborn DLC and unnoficial dragonborn patch.

I know 99.9% of the time it is load order and mods, but I feel like I have covered all my bases and still nada.

I guess if you could find the mod(s) that is causing the conflict..then delete it or uncheck it from the file. Shouldn't have any probs once you figure out what mod is causing the conflict.

Remember to give it a good kicking once you find it..Try this by deactivating mods you think may be the problem..
Look at my load order, I actually have all my mods except for official DLC and unoffical patches disabled! O.O

I do everything through the steam workshop, so the unoffical patches should be up to date.

Thanks for your time Master Dan!

The dragon souls glitch is often caused by a conflict between the 1.8 patch and mods that affect dragon AI packages or add new dragons. If you have any mods like that, simply deactivating them will not immediately fix the problem, you need the dragons themselves to reset. Go to your favorite hiding spot and sleep for 4 days. That will cause all the world cells to reset.

try this put ur skyrim unofficial patch below dragonborn patch leave the other as they r.n if u have other .esm put them above dragonborn
I have only encountered this issue once, and it could be helped by loading another save game (a different character). Once I had absorbed a dragon soul with the other character, I could absorb dragon souls with all my characters again.

Notice that disabling all modifications can cause further problems if any of those disabled modifications alter original scripts or contain their own scripts, since the save game will expect these scripts to be loaded even if you have disabled or uninstalled them.
This is caused by having Skyrim 1.9.32.0.8 (latest) and having the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (1.3.2b), this bug was fixed in Skyrim version 1.9.29.0.8 by having the Unofficial Dragonborn patch with the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (1.3.2b). However the problem has come up again in this version of Skyrim so you will have to wait for a USP update.

And what logic is behind this, exactly? Don't. Do. This.

No, wrong on all accounts, sorry. This is caused by either a wrong load order or a conflicting mod. There is no such bug in vanilla and the UPs do not cause this either.

@ Sasha: deactivating a plugin is not enough. Follow the advices at the bottom of the description page here[skyrim.nexusmods.com].
@dAb dude I've tested this PLUS messaged the USP devz... o_o THE USP CAUSES this as it conflicts with dragonborn DLC...

You didn't test it properly then. And no, deactivating the USKP and being able to absorb souls is not a proper test.

This has been said a countless times: it's caused by either a wrong load order or by malformed mods that drop loose scripts in the \Data folder and alter the Dragons behavior. The USKP itself has absolutely nothing to do with this and doesn't conflict with the DB DLC in any shape or form.

You're lead to believe that it's the culprit because upon deactivating it you're able to absorb souls properly but it's just because those mods scripts badly clash with it.
THEN! :D explain how on a new game clean save this issue STILL happens with ONLY the unoffial patches AND Offical DLC... HA! I test things properly man :/
Instead, of arguing can't you help me test/fix it..? please.
Anyway as I said, I've tested this on a Clean, New game, with only the Unoffical Patches and Offical DLC active, but the problem persisted this lead me to believe that USP is causing the issue unless you can proove otherwise I shall continue to beileve so.. :)
Ok, Tested Again and moved "portal 2 mod" down the load order, seems you were right and it was boss that changed the load order, Im sorry man :) and thank you, if you never mentioned load order I wouldnt have noticed that the P2 mod had moved up the list.... :D Thanks Now I can play skyrim again :D

No problem. The Space Core load order was causing this? I'll have a look into it and have a chat with the BOSS team.
