Good to hear. Question, those unofficial patches... are there any conflicts with official patches or are they just minor tweaks?
ShocksVR #AirLink 17 kwietnia 2013 o 13:12
The Unofficial Patches will not conflict nor cause crashes [by themselves]. I believe they are intended to address minor bugs and only make relatively "safe" changes to the game.

Ah thanks. Maybe I'll search for them. I just don't want my saves to become dependant on having the unofficial patches installed.

Unfortunately, they will become dependent on the Unofficial patches once you have them installed.

That load order is wrong. First Skyrim.esm, then Update.esm, then the official DLC, THEN the Unofficial Patches, as follows:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
Dragonborn.esm
Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp
Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp

Loading the USKP before Dawnguard and Dragonborn is especially wrong.

Actually, saves are dependant on *any* mod containing scripts, this is not an issue with the unofficial patches alone. This also applies to a number of scripts-free mods that alter game settings and such, those will be baked into the save permanently.

I'm hearing that esm's. Load first no matter where you put them.

Yes, ESMs always load before ESPs, but if your load order doesn't match this behavior you confuse the game launcher. On a side note, ESM and ESP are actually identical, the only difference being a single byte in the file header to instruct the game which ones should be treated as masters. You'd better always load them properly: first Skyrim.esm, then Update.esm, then the official DLC sorted by their release date [Dawnguard --> Hearthfire --> Dragonborn], then the mods ESMs.

I thought Hearthfire came before Dawnguard
dAb 18 kwietnia 2013 o 6:02
Nope. Dawnguard 02 August 2012, Hearthfire 04 Ocober 2012, Dragonborn 05 Feb 2013.

The load order being the same as the release dates above is not incidental: the DLC are made so that records in newer DLC intentionally override those in older DLC. Either switch two of those or put something else in between containing conflicting records and the game won't work as intended.

good to know. Thanks

I do not see the skyrim.esm or the update.esm in the data diles list. I know if i goto the folder they are there but the game does not show them in the list
dAb 18 kwietnia 2013 o 9:50
They are intentionally hidden in the game launcher so that players can't disable them by mistake. You need a mod manager to see those.

I've unsubscribed from the unofficial patches, and I've noticed no change at all. In fact, shortly after I got the USKP I've encountered several bugs. I've understood from an experienced modder/player that the unofficial patches are designed to fix bugs created by mods. If you do not have any other content aside from the DLC it is unnecessary to get the patches.
Of course, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I've yet got to encounter a mod that causes issues unless an unofficial patch is included.
