Dead Dragon is haunting me
So, seems like some have had similar problems to this but i haven't found a solution. if i kill a dragon, exp a frost dragong) then from time to time when i come out of building or cave or something, it will fall to the ground in front of me. i have placed items on the corps to try and see if its the same dragon and the items are there the next time it appears. if i kill another dragon, exp an elder dragon) then that is now the dragon that haunts me. im guessing i uninstalled a mod improperly or something based on what ive read. its not a huge deal just breaks immersion for me. any thoughts on how to get this to stop?

Are you using the More Dragons Mod. I had that problem and had to stop using it.

Its happens on my ps3 version also.

I hate to say it but I had to start a new game to get rid of it. I have not added the more dragons mod since it was probably clashing with another mod and my new game had no problems.

You could try to do a console command to disable that dead dragon.

Bring up the console command and type in "disable" then click on the dead dragon then hit enter. That dragon should be disappear forever.

It won't affect any other dragons or such things like that so it's completely safe. I always use that command on dead bodies that remained there for days lol and a dragon once.

The way to fix it, is to resurrect the dragon and kill it again. The glitch may reoccur in the future with a different dragon.

Dakez you guys amaze me with your console commands. I wish I had done that without starting over. I am trying to rely more on console commands and less on mods now and my game is running smoother.

Lol no worries =] But really, it's all thanks to the person who suggest me how to do that command! To be honest, I only know two proper console commands so far so I'm still learning ^.^

If you want to use the console, but do NOT want to have to kill the dragon again, using the Disable command may not be the best option. Disabled items are actually still there in the spot that you disabled them, they are just invisible. You can demonstrate this to yourself by disabling something, and then using the command Enable to see that it did not actually get rid of the target.

So in theory, every time you fast-travel it may indeed be raining invisible dead dragons on you, which (again in theory) could cause save-file bloat.

MarkForDelete is the command you should use if you want things to disappear properly. For some targets the comand has instant affect, for some the affect will occur when the cell resets or if you save and reload the game.

I have learned so much about console commands from you guys that I have few mods left.

Thanks to you all for helping I hope you continue to add your expertise.

Yeah but the MarkForDelete can be really tricky, and harmful. I've only used it once ever, I try to avoid using it, since it really is the way to get something gone forever.

Yeah, "gone forever" is pretty much the definition of delete, lol. Not much trickery going on.
