1.9 Patch Bug NPC delayed lip sync Help!?
The 1.9 beta patch had this problem, forced to start a new game w/ official release w/ no mods and it was still happening. When speaking w/ any npc their mouths remain closed briefly while the audio keeps rolling along making lip syncs/responses delayed. Most noticeable when selecting something from a dialougue tree. Anyone else having this problem as of 1.9?

Yes. There's debate as to whether it's an existing bug or not. I've never seen it like this before, and doesn't seem to be mod related. Sorry I don't know of any fix.

Hopefully it will be patched if enough people call attention to it.

I am not running any mods, never have and this is a new bug. It's like the sound and lip movement is 1/2 second - 1 second off depending on the conversation length.

Yeah, it's very annoying! I've been forum browsing for people with the same problem specifically with the 1.9 patch. Because it is most certainly the cause. But nothing. I opted out of the beta back to 1.8 when that was still an option and no sync delay. Dragonborn looked interesting enough. Perhaps another skyrim suspension is in order unless there's a fix. It's bugging the crap outta me.

Well it is a beta after all.
You have to expect some bugs.

and it doesn't take much to break something when you fix something else.
and you'd only notice the new bug if you come across it.

People have reported it before 1.9 but it appears to have become more common with the new patch. I've noticed it myself but it hasn't really bothered me that much, it's kind of like a dead pixel...you spend days not noticing it but when you do it really bugs the heck out you.

Funny, that's exactly what it's like. Once you see it, it will drive you to distraction.

I let posters on the officials make me wonder if I just hadn't noticed before, but it's pretty pronounced and effects almost every conversation in my game (two unmodded fresh games with the beta). That, along with the NPC's mouths snapping shut at the end of conversations, is pretty noticeable.

But, the game runs smoother than it ever has with this patch, so I'll take that tradeoff for now. Hope it's fixed for everyone who's seeing it.

Ha, once you see it, you can't unsee it. I remember this would happen once or twice in older updates (1.6). But now it's constant. At least it's not like Oblivion or Fallout 3 where the camera zooms in close up. I found turning subtitles on and just reading those detract it a bit. But it's still annoying when they're done talking, the subs go away, and their lips sync is speeding up to catch up, until they finally snap shut lol.

First of all it's an update, NOT A PATCH
Secondly this isn't a bug
finally this is NOT caused by the update, it's a problem that is being caused by mods.

Well I have NO mods installed since the beta was released and revealed this issue. Started a new game, opted out of beta, played under 1.8. The lip sync delay did not occur. While still having NO mods installed, they officially released 1.9 via Steam, and the problem returned.

He'll just keep telling you it's mods, because there are no bugs in vanilla (all the bugfixes in this 'update' are for non-existent bugs, you see). Pay him no mind.

Oh, i see... noted. Playing skyrim now is like watching a japanese/american dubbed Godzilla-like movie lol. <Sigh>, it would actually make more sense to change the spoken language and use english subs. Yet again, one shouldn't have to. Putting Skyrim on standby until potential fix.

I've recently re-installed Skyrim to start playing again. I have no mods installed, and the only DLC I have is Hearthfire. I went ahead and checked off the box to invite myself to the beta update, I've noticed there are definitely some lip sync issues as well as sometimes small bits of sentences get cut off.
Dj'Tah 19 Μαρ, 2013 @ 1:47μμ
It's got to be the 1.9 update then, that is causing this serious "lip sync delay". Since mods can be ruled out. Sentences can be cut short resulting in either skipped audio and/or the dialogue tree to be reopened at the wrong time. But most noticeably it's the mouth animations.

im playing a new dude and the lip sync is off. id hope that its a easy fix at some point in time but no big deal i had some great playthoughs with no problums with lipsync. tell now. but maby the legenday difficulty makes everybody hesitat a half sec cus there scared of bumping into somthing and dieing. the lip sync is behind in my hopes for a fix for the mouse clicking on text that isent yet highlighted. i spend alot of time trying to highlight words that are not lit up under my selection, imo way anoying.i like the topic
