Aetherium Shards?

What are these shards for? I am told by my quest log that there is one more, but I dont know where to look. What are the four Dwemmer strongholds that house Autherium?

If I remember correctly, the quest map tells you where the ‘next’ shard is until you have all of them. (It was a while since I did that quest.) See the UESP Lost to the Ages[www.uesp.net] page for details. The UESP page on The Aetherium Forge[www.uesp.net] goes into some detail on what you can use them to do.

In the end they give you one of 3 things, Aetherium shield, Aetherium staff and Aetherium cirklet.
The cirklet is the best one, allowing you to use one extra standing stone, and if its a one time use per day, you can unequip and put it on again to use again, perfect for ritual stone power.

sounds like he or her has not read the book Aetherium Wars yet, and i bet he or her have not been to the dungeon where the questline begins

Read the the book that starts quest(one in libary in winterhold college) Just wander through ruins you may find them and her (Katina) that when you are able to do quest proper.

When you have crafting maxed even these items show little use except maybe the staff.
