I cant absorb the first dragons soul??
I am playing on a relatives account and I do have mods installed, I got to the first dragon mission at the watchtower. I slay the dragon, and nothing happens. All the AI's just go crouch somewhere random. I restarted multiple times and its not working... any suggestions or ways to fix this bug?

I swear the patch is valid, but I do have a few mods from the workshop. maybe I should uninstall them and try again...

Unofficial Skyrim patch from Nexus. Steam one is out of date, and doesn't fix the problem.

Get the "Unofficial Skyrim Patch" mod.
What it does it fixes all the bugs faster.

with patch installed and in the load order right under all .esm files - make a save, then load that save

I had the same problem . I installed Boss and it fixed it .

The patch got to big for Workshop from all the updates and had to be put on Nexus and other sites.
