I'd like to play Skyrim again, but I need some suggestions PLEASE READ :)
Hey fellow Skyrim players, I have 100+ hours already clocked in Skyrim, I had three characters:
- A redguard warrior with heavy armor and 2h, levelled him to about 30 lvl, did the main questline and the companions (did not finish it because I went astray after other questes :p)
- An elven mage focused on destruction and alteration, did the college of Winterhold and loved it, also started Dark Brotherhood quest but skipped it for my assa character, got bored at about 30 lvl same as my warrior char
- An imperial thief/assassin that I played to about level 15 until I figured out that assassination and stealing in this game suck balls and quit this char
- A couple more low-level ones mostly when I was fiddling around with mods

Summarizing my Skyrim career I did the following:
- College of Winterhold quest line
- Companions questline (up to becoming a werewolf)
- About half of main quest line
- Huge amount of side quests, huge portion of the world explored

That was a little more than 100 hours and I still have so much more to do !

But here's the problem. I don't really know what character to play next and with what mods . I tend to install dozens of mods (had 80+ at one point) but now I'd prefer limiting them to about 10. I fear that a warrior might be just too boring for me, and same with the mage and I tried once with thief/assassin and hated it.

Can you give me some suggestion as to what char would be fun to play and with what mods ?
I want to do the faction war and main quest line so I thought about making a Nord but a warrior again, I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys !

One mistake I did that I regret so much is I started fiddling with the console.
IF YOU HAVENT YET PLAY SKYRIM REMEMBER DO NOT TOUCH THE CONSOLE LET IT STAY WHERE IT IS.
It really spoiled a lot of fun for me, I started using it to fix stuff that I didn't like in game and ended up firing it up every time I bought food in an inn to add myself some gold because I thought the price is too high and immersion-breaking. I didn't realize until later in the game that this made me feel powerless and frustrated.

I wonder if anyone else spoiled his game because of console abusement?

Try installing "live another life" from the nexus website, then install some others and try something like :
Nord Huntsman, or a Bosmer Huntsman, and strictly use a bow, poisons, and shortswords, perhaps add light shields to the mix.

Necromancer (any race) : Go vampire eventually so choose a pale skin color, and go down the path of Conjuration, use ice magic as backup, perhaps some resto and illusion.

Area Tank : Download one of the magickal overhaul mods that change the "Cloak" spells to a useable format, now build a sword & board warrior, pump Health and Stamina, use any stamina regen you can think of, and use your cloak spells.

Sortof like Area tank : Build a sword & board warrior, go Argonian and put loads of regen enchants on everything, weapon should also be vampire affix, now just play the never dying warrior, get into a bind? Histskin ftwin.

Just a few random ideas :)
Hope they help giving you a little bit of inspiration.

But I allways accidently activate the console by pushing its button! It is so easy to accidently push!

You could try a Breton or Dark Elf battle mage. I've tried it and if you want a great and fun build use heavy armor, conjuration, archery, restoration, and enchanting. You can add some more skills in ther if you want but those are the main ones. Use conjuration to conjure a bow which will do great damage and as you go up the conjuration tree use the atronachs and daedra to distract enemies. The heavy armor and enchanting will go hand in hand. If enemies get close it wouldn't hurt to dabble in one-handed or even destruction depending on your preference. It is a fun build!

Here's another one, a take on the Huntsman :
Arcane Archer : Only use Archery and only use the Bound Bow, so go down conjuration, get some stealth, pickpocket, resto, illusion, light armor and have a fun time :)

Hey some good ideas out there...hmm I'm thinking about trying an assassins char, no ridiculous pickpocketing as this is what made me dislike my char the last time Lol pickpoetikc is just so bad in Skyrim (also pointless because you have tons of gold anyway).
I'm thinking Dark Elf with Sneak+Illusion+Archery (gotta take down dragons somehow)+Alchemy. Should I go one handed or I can skip it, what do you think guys?
I'd like to play as stealthy as possible, get mods that make sneak more realistic, maybe add a few features (blackjack mod should be fun ^^).

But the battlemage sounds great, damn I don't know, it's just so hard to choose Lol.

You'd have to make a choice if you want to go Vampire, since the vampire abilities would help alot with your skillset (illusion and sneak etc).
If you'd go vampire I suggest going down to necromage in Resto, now make sure to take "dual flurry" (for example) -after- Necromage (and being a vampire offcourse), and you will have an increase in the totall dmg done due to Necromage. (this only works for but a few perks sadly!).

If you are going for the assassin route it sounds like you have a pretty good build set up. You'll need light armor as well maybe not as much as sneak and archery but once you get high up in the light armor tree it will come in handy. You could even go into enchanting so you could enchant a bow or maybe a dagger for the extra damage along with the sneak attack damage. It would all result in a huge amount of damage dealing.

Sure light armor is good to have.
Now I wonder what mods are good for this playstyle? I remember "sneak tools" or smt like that is good because it adds a lot of new sneaking features, but I'd like a good sneak overhaul that would fix the vanilla crappy sneaking and I just don't know any.

Try the Skyrim Redone mod, completely re-vamps the game, makes spells much more logical to use and adds many

I like playing hybrid characters. Here are the characters I'm playing or planning to play. Many niche spells can be found in the apocalypse spell package. I'm not sure if it's available on Steam, but Nexus is closed for maitenance atm so I can't provide link.

Necromancer/assissin - Sort of a fighter/mage/thief. Uses dark magic such as Leech Seed (absorb health spell from Apocalypse spell package) and raise/summon dead (additional spells from apocalypse spell). Uses daggers after mana runs out. You need a mod to make the onehanded perks work with daggers because it's bugged from what I've read. I haven't tried this yet, but I've heard invisibility spell works well with sneak attacking/backstabs. Destruction is up to you if you want to go in that direction. Also, there's other illusion spells to kill your enemies creatively. Wears light armor. Robes optional. You can get some good robes from the Tera armor mod or just enchant your own.

Archer/mage - Uses spells when enemies come too close. Can also set traps using runes from destruction spell school so if bows don't kill enemies they run up and set the traps. You probably want to focus more on building magic ability because if you focus to much on archery then you'll kill them too quickly.

Druid or fighter/druid - healing spells, area attack spells, summon spirit animal spells from Apocalypse. There's a druid mod here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37665/ (note nexus down atm so link might not work)

Cleric/paladin - restoration, mace onehanded perks, shield perks, heavy armor, improve attack power spell (from apocalypse) sort of like bless from AD&D.

Shamanic warrior - light armor, two handed weapon or dual wield, improve attack spell. Optional: choose orc for berserk skill.

I'm using a mod that disables random dragons so you don't have to fight them unless you do the main quest or get one for bounty
