Don't forget that you can improve both armor and weapons at the workbench if you have the right perks. Wearing gear that improves smithing skill makes the weapons/armor even better.

Specifically Deadric and Dragonbone warhammers deliver the most damage.

Conjured weapons are Daedric also.

Dragonbone Weapons are the most powerful weapons in the game, if you have the Dawnguard expansion.

If not, than Daedric Weapons are the most powerful.
