Hearthfire Spouse Troubles
Hello, all! I have a lovely issue with the Hearthfire DLC. After completely filling out my Lakeview Manor and removing the workbenches, I decided I was ready to get a husband and adopt some kids. My issue is that my husband (of which I've tried 3 different ones) does not move into my Manor. The option to move to the manor comes up and they acknowledge that they will move there, but then simply go about living in their own default home. I can select to live at their place, in which case they then stay put in their home.
If I choose a non-Hearthfire house such as Breezehome, they will move in there normally. I have attempted having them follow me to the manor and dismissing them inside, but they simply leave to return to their own home despite the manor being selected. I also noted that upon selecting the manor for our home, no quest pops up involving meeting them there.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Haven't done that yet so haven't had that problem. Perhaps the UESP article on Marriage[www.uesp.net] has information, particularly in ‘Notes’ and ‘Bugs’.

I have never had a spouse move into a Hearthfire House so I build them for me and my Steward and sometimes even a Houscarl.

I found that a spouse & children will only move into the city houses and not the ones you have built.

That's interesting. The UESP article on Lakeview Manor[www.uesp.net] (see ‘Notes’) implies that having a spouse and kids in it is possible. Haven't done that yet, so can't comment from personal experience.

Not true. I moved hubby and kids there (Lakeview) without any problem.

Hmm well that is troubling :( I wonder what my issue is with them. Haven't tried any other manors.

Lakeview Manor is infamous for causing troubles like that, especially moving in and so, I'd advise choosing another home.

Shame since the kids seem to love it so. Aw well.

You didn't mentoin mods. Check to be sure you don't have any that could cause problems, and check to be sure you do have the Unofficial Patches. They may have fixed the bug you're encountering.
