3 big problems with this game from a newbie's point of view
1. Very little is explained to you what I've been able to tell. It was ages before I realised I had a disease on me, and had to google how to cure it.
2. Lost track of how many times I have had to reload my save because I was stuck in the scenery whilst exploring and couldn't get out.
3. The game overlooks one major aspect of rpgs: the enemies level. Why the hell doesn't the game tell you what level the enemies are? OK, you could say its obvious if the enemy is stronger than you, but how do you know when you'll be ready to reattempt a quest without being able to compare levels? And I mean besides returning over and over again through trial and error.

Overall it seems to me like you are supposed to know a lot about this game before you even play it.

A little bit. I only played the prequel for a few hours and put it down ages and ages ago. But, Skyrim I had no problem figuring it out. I like the zero notification of level, though. Those are personal preference things. The Elder Scrolls games do have a steep learning curve for folks that aren't used to them. It is a very "learn by doing" system.

I believe their are plenty of older games which you probably WILL have to search sometimes- don't be frustrated though, it's that way once you get situable in Skyrim. As far as the ansewers as your 3 'big' problems go...
1) The Shrines in one of the major Nine Holds
2) Err.. Map? Compass?
3) In an ARPG, Skyrim enemies do at times scale levels significantly but it supposes to offer you that unbeknownst readiness to plan ahead of time, Giants for example are not supposed to be fought easily at lower levels, but it can be done. When building your character whatever on scale of level difficulty, it gets much easier in the long run then harder.

I think 1 and 3 are actually intentional. The Dragonborn is a newbie in the world and learns as he goes by talking to people and trying out stuff. This aspect makes the game more enjoyable for me, there's a bit of a mystery and unxpectedness in every situation and every decision that you make.

When you interact with people in the real world, you don't see the exact level number they're at and they're usually unpredictable in some ways as well.

As for your problem number 2, I don't really know what you're talking about. Happenned to me only once that I got stuck between some rocks but I was able to wiggle my way out.

number 2 happens a lot with all these games from this company.

i have to quick save every few min when exploring because im afraid of getting stuck in a hole or between 2 rocks. i've rage quit a few times because of this problem.

!) People comment all the time; "you look sick", "you look pale", etc. Cure disease potions and shrines for that, even the early onslaught of vampirism.
2) That is a quagmire, that I resolved by F5 frequently, rather reloading a previous save which most likely was hours ago.
3) Never bothered me, never concerned myself with it. Just explored and let the game enthrall me with its vastness, and rich environment. Enemy too tough? Runaway and live to fight another day.

SKYRIM is difficult because there's more enemies every 50 feet waiting to fool you ,attack you or poison you. the JURGEN Windcaller Mod gives you his robes which gives you 100% immunity ->>to disease and there are AMULETS that do the same thing too.

Not having the flying mod and it's ring is a bad idea because it makes getting unstuck so much easier. You just open your Q equip the ring and fly away.

i type "help extended" and help myself to as many invisibility potions
required to have an edge..... having the ethereal shout also makes you invinciple for a time...
same as riding the ethereal horse that cannot be harmed by man or beast (code 10bf90)
i ride him inside the cities just for fun because i can....and why walk when you can ride.
the console books( in my OPINION ) lightstar chest found in helgen when you start a new game with this mod installed levels the playing field in your favor then you have more fun.

If stuck in rocks in open ground (try fast travel to nearest known point) I do nothing after becoming Thane of Whiterun, but wander Skyrim clocking up all the places and highlighting the map for future references.
You have 3 Skyrim days to cure yourself off disease, others will tell you that you look ill, potion or shine fixes that.

For getting stuck in scenery, open the console and type tcl, move out of stuck, enter tcl again to return to normal.

Was just about to put this.
The PC version of skyrim has the console which helps with a great deal of problems. For example, there's a point where the main quest and the civil war questlines clash and you cannot continue with either of them; you have to use the console to fix it.

Console? How do you use it?

I don't like that you don't find out about standing stones unless you follow that guy at the beginning which is less than clear.
